Released Synchronization Bankthe Techron Advantage credit card earns rewards at both Chevron and Texaco gas stations. Unfortunately, the card’s baseline rewards are stable enough that the average price of a gallon of gas is hovering below $3 (through February 2026).
There are ways to increase your savings per gallon with the card, but they require a commitment on your part to spend more and get gas mostly from Chevron and Texaco.
What to know about Takeran Advantage Credit Card
1. There are two tech credit cards
When you apply for a Techron credit card, your application will be considered for one of two products:
Techn Advantage Credit Card: A closed-loop card, meaning it can only be used at Chevron and Texaco gas stations in the U.S., as well as qualified auto merchants that partner with Coordinated Car Care.
Taken Advantage Visa Credit Card. An open-loop card, meaning it can be used anywhere Visa is accepted.
If you are not approved for a Taken Advantage visa, you will be assessed for the closed-loop version instead.
Both cards have a $0 annual fee.
2. Gas rebates are metered until you spend enough
Both Techron cards earn a base discount of 3 cents per gallon of gas. If you have a Technron Advantage Visa, you can get 10 cents off per gallon by spending more with the card. The discount, which Harmony Bank calls the “Visa Fuel Rebate,” stacks on top of the 3-cent-per-gallon discount:
If you spend $100-$199.99 per billing period, you’ll get an additional 2 cents per gallon off.
If you spend $200-$299.99 per billing period, you’ll get an additional 4 cents per gallon off.
If you spend $300-$399.99 per billing period, you’ll get an additional 6 cents per gallon discount.
If you spend $400-$499.99 in the billing period, you’ll get an additional 8 cents per gallon off.
If you spend $500 or more in a billing period, you’ll get an additional 10 cents per gallon off.
Depending on the fuel dispenser, the fuel rebate is applied as an immediate discount at the pump or as a statement credit.
A baseline 3 cents per gallon discount isn’t much of a deal. On 20 gallons of gas, you’ll save just 60 cents.
If, however, you’re able to spend enough on the Visa version of the card, you can get up to 13 cents per gallon, saving you a more impressive $2.60 on a 20-gallon fill-up. Just note that to get anyone The discount, you’ll have to commit to filling up at a Chevron or Texaco station. Also be aware that even if you earn a Visa Spending Fuel Rebate, it’s only good for the month in which you hit the spending requirement. To get it back, you’ll need to make enough purchases on the card in subsequent billing cycles.
Another caveat: Visa fuel rebates are capped at $300 per year.
