It is expected that a passive 25 % tariff on sugar collected graphics cards and motherboards will be returned this weekend later this week.

    https://www.tiqets.com/en/new-york-new-york-hotel-casino-tickets-l235895/?partner=travelpayouts.com&tq_campaign=bc55a31e7f434e4ab93246c49-615741

A year ago, the Biden administration extended the interval to 25 % tariff, eliminating affected Chinese imports, but only until May 31, 2025.

As part of Section 301 investigation into China’s trade and technology policies, 25 % tariff began during Trump’s first administration. But at times, Trump and then Biden exempted Chinese collective GPU and Mother Boards from duties. Manufacturing for both components is still widely found in China.

Since then, the office of the US trade representative under Trump has not said whether it will expand or not. If it gets worse, PC vendors face a 25 % import fee in the upper part of the 20 TE tariff rate that the Trump administration is already imposing on Chinese electronics.

So far, the USTR Press Office has not responded to a phone call about repeated emails and tariff emission fate. But the largest group of lobbying for the electronics industry, the Consumer Technology Association, tells PCMAG that it expects the total expense to expire. This is bad news for PC builders because many graphics cards are already being sold at fell prices, forcing consumers to pay hundreds of dollars extra in terms of model.

June Bach, president of the Customs PC maker Pijet System, is also eliminating the expenditure. “I’m looking closely at the weekend and early next week, looking closely,” he said, adding that he plans to update his blog about the potential effects.

25 % tariff is not related to a judicial decision this week, which has eliminated some of Trump’s wider taxes under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. 25 % tariff on Chinese GPU and Mother Boards was imposed under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 and is legally intact.
