They have their own opinions expressed by business partners.
I recently saw a shop in a US agency a job advertisement that was written:
“If you prefer clock -out -minded, we’re not good fit,” and
“When you are hungry for growing up, specific times of work doesn’t matter.”
I’ve been around this block to find out what it really means: long hours, weekend emails and a fading between work and everything.
We want to believe that we have shifted the past to the welfare of the culture and workplace. But the posting of such a job proves that many employers are still selling burnout, wrapped in only “ambitions”.
I have won both versions of the founder travel: always the first reconstruction of grind and welfare. I know exactly what is stirred by you – and how small, deliberately changes can help you feel better, guide you better and create a business that you do not burn.

When the stir becomes your identity
And why is this problem?
Startup culture praises the idea that more hours are more successful. And of course, the initial win looks good – that the Dopamine hit keeps us grinding. A day, stir Is Your identity
In the early days of my company, I used to live through this mantra: “If you are going home and your competitors are still going on – turn.” He worked. We scored the world’s 500 world team with three scratched founders. But finally, I realized: If I have not kept my team’s welfare before, we will not last. Playing longer takes more than ability – it takes stability.
The data backs it. In a recent survey of 138 Startup Founders, more than half of the last year suffered a burnout. Two -thirds had seriously considered walking away from the companies they had built. It’s not excited – this is a system failure.
Even the stories of high -level success do not exempt. Take the co -founder of the loom with Higherimat. After helping the company get out of nearly billion dollars, he confessed: “I’m rich and I don’t know what to do with my life.” The solution? Go back to the Stire Culture – because it’s just what he knows.
Burnout is a quiet epidemic. The World Health Organization officially recognized it as a “professional trend” in 2019. It rarely makes headlines, but it increases the attention, clear decisions and eventually, the longevity of the business.

Health performance – and it starts with you.
When the leaders are well relaxed and engaged, everything works better: decision -making, team morale, product speed. And this is just a good idea. In 90 countries, 2024 gallup studies of 183,000 businesses have found that prioritization of employees’ fitness is a business benefit. Here they found:
- 78 % less absent
- 51 % less business of employees
- 32 % fewer errors and defects
- 20 % more productivity
- 23 % more profit
These results are not magic – they are a complex effect of cultural choice. And those choices begin from above.
For me, the important turning point was easy: I’m tired of getting tired. I moved to the construction of a rhythm from being stirred from the stir that supported the performance And Charity
How is this look:
- I set hard limits during work hours. I wore 14-16 hours a day like honor seeds. But after 8pm, I will spend twice as much on basic tasks. Now, my goal is to wrap up until 6:30 pm, which forces to focus better and leaves energy for out of work.
- I preferred the temperament over hex. There is no jump or cold from the cold. Only a stable rhythm of short break between meetings. It prevents mental fatigue from building.
- Instead of screaming coffee, I moved my body. Short exercises replaced endless caffeine. Even a five -minute interval helps to reset my energy and cognition. Trying new sports also improved my mental flexibility by amazing ways.
- I allowed my brain to go astray. When I’m not doing anything, some of my best thoughts appear.
- I protected my attention as it was my most valuable source. Each day’s deep attention-no meetings, no multi-tasking-finding ideas, let me think long-term without finding strategies and working late.
And it wasn’t just about me. I brought fitness into my team’s culture with the challenges of running meetings, breathing breaks and light heart welfare. Because business is just as healthy as people build it – not just founder.

There is no email at the weekend. No slack messages late at night. Don’t say you have “limited access” in a message outside the office. They say you are offline – and that means. Similarly, you create a culture where comfort is respected, not angry.
In fact, I still struggle to roam completely. When you are building something you care about, it is difficult to let it go. But if you want you to build the thing you are building, you have to protect the person who builds it. You. Fitness is not retreat. This is not a reward. This is your basis.
And if we want a new era of work, it starts with buildings companies where people develop, not only survive.
