Matty Libchennsky has written several graphic novels and exemplifies them, including 2023 reweight. The weekend of the boysBut its latest, SimplicityRefuses to compare it with its first work. Although it maintains Lubchinski’s signature intellect and amazing arts, this book is also included in the area, which focuses on the dangers of communications and loyalty.

Wogg Talked to Libchennsky about filling up Simplicity With ideas, its long -standing madness with sects, AI’s art threat, and various dystopia drawings. The conversation is edited and thick.

Wogg: This time you were different from your two previous graphic novels, The weekend of the boys And Antifa Super Source Cook Book?

Matty Libchennsky: Well, more smart people are talking about it, but you always hear, “You have to learn how to write every book you are writing,” and that was definitely a matter for me. All three of my books have been very different. antifa The book was a major limit to the short -form political activities that I was doing. The weekend of the boys It was not automatically, but it was in the universe of things where I had something to do with me that I changed all the details and set it up in the future and added sarcasm to the story of a fiction. With this book, I started with a kind of starting characters. I researched the book, which I never did, and as I thought more about it, I just started piled up more and more things in this book. The weekend of the boys There is a kind of idea of it, which is thought that Trans people are human, while I think so Simplicity It has 40 ideas, after a long time try to enter them all there.

What are you interested in the topic of communs and sects?

I have always had the passion of sects. I mean, I have one in the center of my last book. I realized that when I was finishing the book that both books were like similar premises. I think there is something in the air about communication. In the last 40 to 50 years, a lot of separatism has faced and, very recently, especially the transitional movements, where it is, if you are a gay person in a big city, you are probably someone who tried to start the form with your friends. It is just in the air. In my research, I was reading a lot about Marxist Socialist groups before the 19th century, and now our time is obviously like the world. But there is a similar view that people’s lives are being arranged in a way, and people feel that their destiny, their body, their communities is not controlled. So this is a strange moment, like, I am about to start a new society. Everyone is seeing how good it is. I think I have always been attracted to what a person leaves everything and joins one of them.
