Mark Zuckerberg’s AI -hired snap is spending a lot of money. Its investors don’t care.
Meta stock prices increased by 10 % on Wednesday after reporting better income from the company’s expected income. The income in the second quarter was $ 47.5 billion, which is 22 % higher than a year ago. In Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp, users daily increased by about 3.5 billion. Meta also warned Wall Street that it would spend more on data centers and services next year. In response to all this, the company’s price increased $ 175 billion, or more than 12 AI deals.
Zuckerberg said during today’s income call, “Our business performs very well, which enables us to invest a lot in our AI’s efforts.” Meta’s Cash Canon is now referring to its new moon shot to acquire sprintlence, or when she says “in every way, human intelligence surpasses.” He arranged for the training of new models to provide “unprecedented access” to members of his new Superintendents Lab, which would “advance a year or more the next Frontier.”
Zuckerberg’s last moon shot was metawar, which came out only once at the end of today’s income call. It is too early to compare both projects, but they have an important match: they need funding that can only provide a company like Meta.
Where the AI is different from the metawar, however, it seems that it is already improving the Meta Advertising business. According to CFO Susan Lee, a new AI model for advertising supply has run almost five percent more exchange on Facebook and three percent more conversion on Instagram. Large models of language are also launching electricity on how companies’ apps are ranked in feeds, including threads.
Although Meta is still spending too much on Metaware (this year its Reality Labs Division is on the way to spend 100 billion total billion), there is no mistake in the fact that AI is officially Zuckerberg’s top priority. This time, though, he is playing a catch -up in a hot race, not trying to invent a new platform from the beginning. The stake is too much, even if he is playing the game with home money.
