Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are on sale for great prices. The digital version of the definitive edition is discounted to $39.89 ($60) at Amazon and Walmart. Both retailers are also offering a similar price cut on the digital version of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which drops the price to $41.88 ($60). You can pair the Sequel with an Extended Pass for $20.88 ($30) from Walmart. The Expansion Pass includes the Star Wars expansion Tourna – Golden Country.

When you buy a digital Nintendo Switch game from a major retailer like Amazon and Walmart, you receive a download code to redeem on Nintendo eShop. Both games were first discounted to those prices in mid-October and are back as of November 5. Amazon previously passed up the Xenoblade 2 expansion for the same price as Walmart, but it has since sold out. Any game gets discounted all too often, and these are two of the best RPGs you can play on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

    . 39.89 (was $60)

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is one of the best RPGs on Nintendo Switch more than five years after its release. It’s even more impressive when you consider the fact that Final Edition was the third version of Monolith Soft’s massive adventure. Xenoblade originally released on the Wii in 2010 and was later ported to the New Nintendo 3DS in 2015.

Xenoblade Chronicles features a very rewarding real-time, action-battle combat system with multiple difficulty settings available. Final Edition’s futuristic epilogue adds 10-20 hours of additional story content on top of the 50-plus hour mainline campaign.

With great gameplay and a beautiful world to explore, Xenoblade Chronicles has a great ensemble cast led by protagonist Shulak and great writing. From a story perspective, the Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy is one of the best modern series in the genre.

The definitive edition earned a 9/10 in our Xenoblood Chronicles review.

    . 41.88 (was $60)

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 launched as a 2017 Nintendo Switch exclusive. Although it’s not considered as original, it’s still one of the better role-playing games on the Switch (and Switch 2). While you technically aren’t need To enjoy Xenoblade 2 by playing the first game, it is recommended that you play each game in chronological order to experience the full weight of the trilogy’s main story.

The sequel has some packaging and narrative issues, but the combat system is great, and the expansive world is a joy to explore. Xenoblade 2 starts off pretty slow, but the latter half of the 60-plus hour campaign is thrilling. Check out our Xenoblade Chronicles 2 review for more details.

    . 20.88 (was $30) | Tourna – Golden Country included

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – A standalone expansion called Golden Country released in 2018. Torna takes place approximately 500 years after the base game and features a new cast of characters. The roughly 20-hour campaign is available as a standalone purchase for $40, but if you own the base game, you can save money by purchasing the Expansion Pass instead.

On sale at Walmart for just $20.88—half the price of Torna by itself—this expansion pass includes story expansions, additional quests, challenge battle modes, multiple rare blades for Schalk and Fiora, and more.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 isn’t on sale to stand a discount, but you can save about five bucks on a digital bundle with the base game and expansion pass at Amazon.

    • Xenoblade Chronicles 3

If you’re looking for physical editions of mainline series, you’ll usually end up paying full price—if you can find any copies in stock at all. US editions of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Torna – The Golden Country often sell for more than retail, but you can often get these and other Xenoblade games for less by choosing region-free imports from the UK. Regardless of region, getting physical editions of the Xenoblade Trilogy often means buying from a third-party seller. The physical editions above are from the seller but are fulfilled by Amazon or Walmart.

An enhanced port of the Wii U spin-off Xenoblade Chronicles X released on the Nintendo Switch in March. Xenoblade Chronicles X: The Definitive Edition Physical Edition at Amazon and Walmart. Available for 54.78 (was $60). Xenoblade Chronicles X is more action-oriented than the main trilogy and can be fully enjoyed without prior knowledge of the series.

Note: If you purchase the International Edition of Xenoblade 2, it will only be compatible with the Expansion Pass from the European Eshop. This does not apply to the standalone edition of Tourna – Golden Country as it is considered a separate game. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 also has an expansion pass that should match the region of your physical or digital copy.
