Amazon’s Black Friday 2025 sale doesn’t officially start until November 20, but the online retailer is offering some great early video game deals for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 1/2. One of the most notable early releases is Borderlands 4. Launched in September with a retail price of $70, Gearbox’s long-awaited looter shooter is up for grabs on PS5 and Xbox Series X for $48.
Black Friday deals on games that aren’t out yet are rare, but Amazon is also offering a big discount on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 port of Borderlands 4.
$48 (was $70)

While previous Borderlands games were primarily set on the planet of Pandora—Borderlands 3 expanded it to include several more planets—Borderlands 4 takes place on the world of Kairos, giving players free rein to cause some chaos as they work on the Timekeeper’s forces.
Like its predecessors, the key objective here is to take control of one of four unique Vault Hunters, enhance their abilities, and power them up by finding powerful weapons and gear. It’s a formula that’s been around since the original Borderlands game, but in Borderlands 4, the gameplay has been refined and enhanced with quality-of-life features.
$55 (was $70) | Release date TBA

The Nintendo Switch 2 port of Borderlands 4 was originally set for October 3rd, just weeks after the game’s September 1st launch on other platforms. But then about a week before launch day, Gearbox announced an indefinite delay to polish the experience on Switch 2.
If you’re planning to buy Borderlands 4 for Nintendo Switch 2, it makes sense to secure a pre-order now. Amazon has slashed the price by $15, so you can save on the Source 2 on Switch 2 for $55. Keep in mind that this is a game key card, so you’ll need to download Borderlands 4 from Eshop after loading the cartridge into your console for the first time.

Since launch, developer Gearbox has further tweaked Borderlands 4 with several major updates, balance patches and weekly hotfixes. The studio has extensive post-launch plans for the game—both paid and free—with the first DLC dropping on November 20 and adding all-new missions, enemies, and legendary gear.
Endgame content is also coming towards the end of the year, as players will be able to test their skills and build Vault Hunter against a tough boss named Bloomerper the Invisible.

Unlike Borderlands, we know when it launches: December 5th.
