Sarah Coonen, managing director of Liberty London, stepped in

Background: Sarah Coonen, managing director of 150-year-old London department store Liberty London, is stepping down from her role at the end of January 2026. A successor has not yet been named. The executive has been with the business for 15 years, having held senior roles in procurement before being promoted to managing director in 2022. Under his leadership, Liberty has overcome a soft retail market. Sales increased by 6% this year compared to the previous year, with double-digit profits, thanks to the store’s creative heritage and focus on creations for the London-based customer.

Effective: January 31, 2026.

Responsible Jewelery Council appoints Parvi Shah as Executive Director

Background: The Responsible Jewelery Council (RJC), a global standards organization for jewelery and watches, has appointed Parvi Shah as Executive Director. As part of a community of more than 2,000 in 74 countries, spanning the jewelery and watch supply chain from quarry to retail, each RJC member is independently audited against a series of business practices. Shah will bring her 15 years of experience driving stability and transparency to work with RJC members and its Board to drive impact and deliver meaningful, lasting value in the jewelery supply chain.

Shah joins RJC from De Beers, where she was head of ethical and sustainable value chains. There, he led the integration of sustainability across its diamond value chain and advanced ESG performance, particularly through the development of De Beers best practice principles and its pipeline integrity programs.
