Disney+ will add a TechTalk-style vertical video feed to its mobile app later this year.

As reported by Deadline, the feed aims to increase daily engagement on the app, and will feature content across genres including sports, news and entertainment.

The announcement was made at an event for advertisers at CES 2026. In an earlier interview with Deadline, Erin Teague, Disney’s EVP of product management, said the feed “could include relevant scenes from original short-form programming, remastered social clips, longer epic or feature titles, or a combination.”

Apps that show short form videos are a big hit with the youth. Clips from Disney shows and movies often have high engagement on TikTok, Instagram reels, and YouTube shorts. Companies have recognized that “it’s important to meet them where they’re at … Gen Z and Gen Alpha are expected,” Teague said.

Short vertical videos are coming to Disney+ after being added to a similar ESPN app last year. On ESPN, Vertus Feed displays highlights, viral clips and social media content. Teague added that the clips are “great as everyday habits. Snackable, short, bite-sized experiences.”

In announcing its AI partnership with Openee last month, Disney said select user-generated clips from Sora would also be allowed on its streaming app. Although the company didn’t mention adding AI videos to the new feed, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them there.

In addition to the new video feed, Disney executives also announced a new set of AI ad planning tools for advertisers. One of them is a video generation tool that helps create high-quality commercials for TV using the company’s own assets and guidelines.
