Good things take time – and Kasia Kucharska wasn’t afraid to take that time. After a season break, the Fashion Fund winner returned to Berlin with what proved to be his most personal collection yet. Inspired by the changes, milestones and a little bit of chaos in her life, Kucharska asked herself what could be better than essentially keeping everything intact. “Life is constantly changing. My life took new paths too – and I had to learn first and foremost how to pick myself up again through all the ups and downs.” He put a lot of effort into the development of the fabric. Take its signature look: shield latex that wraps around the body like a second skin. “We took time again to work with new surface textures. Like the floor-length snake dress, which is one of the most elaborate pieces in the collection.” A young mother’s many nostalgic memories of her childhood and one of the moving films like “The Jungle Book”.
Another way to deal with Hetkins is to just let it run its course. Shirt sleeves were sewn together at different points on the body, quickly tied around the waist and reworked into skirts and dresses. The precise cut seemed deliberately early and hastily placed, some of them not finished. Also included were modular elements such as leg warmers and sleeve cuffs, which gave the body-hugging silhouette more weight and volume. “We go through life carrying more stuff, ballast and errands,” Kucharska said backstage, as she held up one of her new extra-large pouches, inspired by a diaper bag. “But that’s not a bad thing,” he added with a smile. “We keep going. Sometimes a little slow.”
