Spotify announced three updates to its Lyrics feature this week. The streamer will now support offline lyrics, expand translation for all users worldwide, and will now show a preview of a new song in the Play tab.

    https://www.tiqets.com/en/new-york-new-york-hotel-casino-tickets-l235895/?partner=travelpayouts.com&tq_campaign=bc55a31e7f434e4ab93246c49-615741

Song translations have been available on the platform since 2022, but were limited to select markets. With this week’s update, the feature is now available to both free and premium users worldwide, “so more fans can unlock the meaning of songs in different languages.”

To see translations for supported tracks, swipe over to the Now Playing tab and tap the translation icon on the lyrics card. The button looks similar to the Apple Translate app icon, and translations will appear based on your device’s language. To go back to the original lines, just tap the button again.

Spotify is also making the lyrics available for offline viewing. Going forward, when premium users download songs for offline listening, the lyrics will be saved on the device along with the tracks.

The final addition is now the lyric preview of the game tab. Instead of swiping on a card, you can now follow the lyrics from a short space below the album art.

The song preview is also live for both free and premium users worldwide, but only on mobile and tablets. If you don’t like this feature, you can turn it off by tapping the three-dot menu at the top right of Play Now and selecting Lyrics closed.

The updates come shortly after Spotify announced a price hike for its premium subscription in the US. Starting this month, the plan will cost $12.99 per month, a $1 increase from its previous price. Both these and the family plans cost $18.99 and $21.99 a month, respectively.
