
Fractured Kingdom is taking place in Cavalier Game Studios’ new card-based roguelike Prime Monster. The nation has a three-party system that allows players to choose between Viscount Sixworth of the vampiric Victory Party, Chopper Badstone of the Orcs-4-U, and Rotilda DK, Prime Shuffler of the Zombified People’s Movement. All of them are monsters here, and no promise is too provocative for them to gain political power.
The Prime Monster demo is now out on Steam, and the cards let players unleash every dirty trick in the book. There is no question of murder, but why kill your political opponent when you can ruin their good name and reputation? For these mostly dead creatures, some fates are worse than death.
Cavalier Game Studios is going for political satire with some of the initiatives available, including calls for a single hex marriage and the release of Nosferatu files. And instead of discouraging players from making false promises to voters, Prime Monster rewards them for lying. The more extraordinary the promise, the more likely it is to keep you in power. These voters are pretty gullible, and they don’t mind voting for the greater evil.
