
The Davita Inc. said it was affected by the Ranksware, which has shut down parts of its network.
The company, which specializes in providing kidney dialysis to patients in more than 700 hospitals in the United States, told the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday that the incident was affecting some of its actions.
Davita said she was working with law enforcement and cybercopy experts to recover, but did not provide any timeline on how long it would take to resolve the barrier.
The company said, “After the discovery, we activated the protocol of our response and implemented the containment measures, including practically isolating the influential systems.”
Davita representatives did not immediately return the comment.
Rensamware is a type of malicious software deployed by hackers to secure access to files stored on computers and encrypt them. Hackers usually call for a key to unlock the computer, while threatening to publish stolen data online.
In the health sector, companies and organizations have been targeted in repeated renampeare attacks, which are sometimes forced to postpone patients with treatment and result in damage to the damage.
Last year, a Ransamware Hack from the United Health Group Inc. Inc. affected a system that operates billing and insurance for hundreds of thousands of hospitals and pharmacies.
