When it comes to Subaro engines, the focus usually comes to the boxer Four. And why not? From the old EJ22T to the EJ25, who on one occasion gave a lot of strength to every Sabaru, it is the engine that is the synonym of the Japanese brand.
That’s why I make the video video so interesting. It focuses on the lesser -known 3.0 liter EZ30 flat skis, which was drawn from Subaro Outback of 2005, which was only more than 200,000 miles. We’re accustomed to seeing these tear -down videos, and this engine completely massacred Used to It was considered very poor to save. But the diagnosis was the result of a failed test test, and when examining, it is not immediately clear what can happen.
However, what is clear is that the engine has been out of the car for a long time. The main corrosion of the outside is visible from the beginning, and this makes the tear unlimited. The stubborn bolts are broken, and the loss is not for the fasteners. Covering one of the valve, a bad bolt actually breaks the core. The rest of the cover is literally broken into pieces while trying to remove the other anti -bolts. There may be fame for the reliability of Sabaro’s H6, but it certainly does not like to be separated.
But the impatient process is in progress, and with the removal of each part, the reason for condemning it becomes a great issue. Finally we arrive at the bottom where, in general, we see some form of distorted metal. But not this time. In addition to wearing something unusual (but not harmful) on the rod and the main bearings, everything in this engine is fine.
So what does it give? The engine initially failed in the leakdown test, suggesting the loss of compression in the cylinder. This usually causes significant damage to some internal ingredients, but in this case, there may be some corrosion to prevent valves from properly sealing the valves in the valoter. Even the theory is that after operating and arriving, the engine can mainly set itself. Now, that will never happen.
But the video shows the internal works of the Sabaro engine rarely seen, and according to the automacker’s credit, it looks greatly built. At least, engineers certainly made it difficult to separate it. Keep in mind the next time you decide to postpone the oil change on your flat six Sabi. Even if something happens inside the engine, even the slightest thing, it will be a huge cost that has to be fixed.
