Sanders and his allies wrote in a letter written to the Paramount’s controlling shareholder, “(Legalization) has absolutely no merit and cannot stand.”
Paramount Global faces increasing pressure from liberal lawmakers and workers as it considers to be tried by President Donald Trump.
According to Fox News, lawyers from Trump and Paramount Global enrolled in mediation last week. If arbitration succeeds, most legal experts say that Trump has little qualifications in the case. Some politicians, including Vermont San Bernie Sanders and Massachusetts Senior Elizabeth Warren, have suggested that any settlement presented by Paramount is equivalent to a court -approved bribe.
Last November, Trump, who filed his case against the CBS and a parent company, Paramount, claims that he was amended to edit him in a more positive light in an interview with the then candidate Kamla Harris.
In a statement, people from Sanders, Warren and other Congress directly requested to follow Shri Red Stone, a global -controlled shareholder, and told them that it would be a “serious mistake” to fix Trump’s trial with far -reaching media outcome.
Sanders and his allies wrote in a letter written to the Red Stone, “(legal fiction) has no qualification and he cannot stand.”

He said, “He will not back down in his war against the media and an independent press by awarding tens of millions of dollars for filing a bogus case to Trump.” ‘This will only be attracted to the shake -down, extortion and silence CBS and other media outlets, which have the courage to inform Trump about the issues that do not like. “
The letter states, “Stand for the freedom of the press and our democracy,” the letter said.
Fox News notes that the Red Stone had previously indicated the willingness to set the case with legal action, possibly with the hope that it would prevent the Trump administration from opposing the planned integration of the Paramount with Sky Dennis Media.
Fox News says the Red Stone allegedly wanted to “put” tabs on the upcoming CBS classes in Trump, and the network executives were allegedly urged to delay the sensitive reporting to the president by the end of the merger. As a result, Bill Ouins, executive producer of “60 minutes”, was suddenly resigning. In his resignation, Owens said it would have been impossible for the new Red Stone to maintain editorial independence.
Some CBS hosts have publicly criticized the position of Paramount over the settlement talks.
“There are reports that the owner of the company called the president or called the chairman of the company,” Stephen Colbert said during a “late show” exchange with guest Rachel Meadow. “And the word is that it was not given to the news division, I am happy to say that.”
