We just covered the release of two new whiskey from Havan Hill: Old Footzerld Spring 2025 editions in the bottle in the bottle, and new grain from glass bourbon. But Kentucky Distillery is making news again this week that Elijah Craig Barrel with the latest release of Bourbon, and it seems that it will be a worthy to drink with a decent ABV.
Elijah Craig Barrel is the core of Elijah Craig Bourbon of the Barrel Proof Distillery. It is made of 78 % corn, 12 % malted, and 10 % rye, but when regular Elijah Craig is given bottle on 94 proofs, the barrel -proof version is placed in a bottle on the strength on which it comes out of the barrel, uncontrollable and without any cold filtration. The proof of this varies from batch to seatth – usually three every year – and in September of 2014, more than 118 evidence has reached more than 140.2 proofs. The latter number is eligible for the hospital level, or more than 140 evidence, which means that the FAA forbids you from boarding the plane. Thankfully, the latest batch – B525, which indicates the second batch, which was released in May 2025, relatively clicks the Reach on 126.2 evidence. There is no doubt about it, it is still strong, but more ABV is able to drink with the release lines and still a lot of drink (though a little snow or even water can perform this trick to weaken bourbon).
At the age of 11 years and six months, it is also the oldest Elias Craig Barrel Proof release since 2023 (the oldest 13 years from today and C923 at the age of 7). It should be noted that Omar reflects the youngest whiskey in the bottle, so it can also include old liquids. In May 2023, Havan Hill removed the 12 -year -old ancient statement from this brand, from the brand, in the way of many bourbon drinkers. “Elijah Craig Barrel will have its own unique taste profile and proof in every middle of the barrel -proof, as is like last year, and now a unique age statement that will maintain the characteristic of the famous age for this brand.” The fact of the matter is that the older whiskey does not mean better, so this change was allowed to be more freedom to come up with every batch, though it was also an attempt to save a lot of price.
We have not received the new ECBP to try bourbon, and this brand has not yet provided any tasting notes, but the SRP is $ 75 and it will start this month. In the meantime, you can find previous batches available to buy from websites like Total Alcohol.
