If you are in North America with the clear heavens in Syria in the next several days, don’t waste the opportunity to see you – you might catch the most wonderful light show on earth.
Noaa’s space weather forecast center has released a G3 (strong) geographical storm for Tuesday night, which has set a phase of fiery arson in 18 states. The potential light show comes from two powerful CMEs (coronal mass enzymes), which was pulled through the sun on April 13 and is ready to fall into the earth’s magnetic field over the next 24-48 hours.
“These #Solar Storms will probably travel slowly, but they are dense and thus pack a decent cartoon!” A space weather physicist Timitha Skov wrote in a post on X on April 13. “Coronagraph data is still awaited to inform the model runs, but the effect can be in the end of April 15 or early April 16.”
In North America, 18 states can be treated with amazing brightness this evening, Alaska, northeastern Montana, northeastern Dakota, and North Minnesota.
States like South, Illinois, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Mine have a slim but still decent opportunity to see the light on the horizon. It is difficult to predict the right access to these storms, so it is worth looking at the sky, regardless of.
You can see Noaa’s prediction map to reach Aurora on Tuesday evening. A little less, but still impressive, also predicted for Wednesday evening.
