Montgomery, Ala.
The bill was named after the “Laken Rally Act”, named after a 22 -year -old Agista University student, which was killed by an unprocessed immigrants in Georgia last year. President Donald Trump signed a similar law in January, which requires the detention of unauthorized immigrants on charges of theft and violent crimes.
House Bill 7 is now in the Senate judicial committee. If the law has been signed, local and state law enforcement agencies will face agreements with federal agencies to enforce the country’s immigration laws.
“This is just a common understanding level to help enforce the laws already exist on our society’s books,” said Bill’s sponsor, Republican Republican Republican Erne Yarborough.
The bill condemned Swift from the representative’s democratic minority house.
Representative Chris England said that the bill would make profiling inevitable because he said that officers are more likely to detain extraordinary people who do not speak English. He added that viewing the increasing frequency of detention without any trial across the country is more at stake.
He said, “The constitution cannot be circumstances, it cannot be a situation, it cannot be only when it benefits me. You have to follow its principles, even when you don’t want.”
Yarborough denied that the bill would encourage ethnic profiling, and pointed to the amendment of the bill in which officers would need to examine the status of immigration rather than nationalism.
“The most important thing is that the purpose of this bill is not to thwart immigrants – it is about the protection of albuminis,” said Yarborough.
Nevertheless, some Democratic lawmakers pushed back. He said it would make communities less secure as it would discourage immigrants from reporting crime in society.
Rap. The Nile Rafri said that the name of the rally was exploited in the bill and did not stop his death. “Changing local officers into immigration agents can harm their ability to prevent crime,” Rafayy said.
