ASUS ROG XBOX ELLY is still on sale at Amazon for its lowest price yet. Normally $600, the official Xbox gaming handheld is up for grabs for just $490 for a limited time. It’s unclear when the deal ends, but you’ll also find the recently released handheld on sale at Walmart ($499), Best Buy ($500), and Target ($550).
This isn’t the first time an Xbox ally has gotten a discount. On November 29, Best Buy and Amazon discounted the device by up to $500. This deal was only available as a Black Friday flash deal for three hours, so it was easy to miss. If you’re picking up an Xbox One at Amazon, you should also check out some of the third-party accessories available right now. , including docking stations, screen protectors, travel cases, and microSD UHS-II cards.
90 490 (was 600)

The ROG Xbox One is an entry-level Windows gaming handheld with impressive features and performance for the price. The Ryzen Z2 is comparable to a custom AMD APU of a chip Steam Deck, and if you increase TDP—at the expense of battery life—the Xbox One Steam Deck can outperform OLED. For reference, the Steam Deck OLED 512GB model retails for $549.
The Xbox One has a 1920 x 1080p IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate and support for VRR and AMD FreeSync Premium. If you’re comparing to the Steam Deck OLED, Valve’s handheld has a 7.4-inch 1280 x 800p OLED display with HDR and a 90Hz refresh rate. So the Steam deck wins in panel type and size, but the Xbox One wins in resolution and refresh rate. That said, to get the best performance on the Xbox Ally, you’ll often want to lock the resolution to 720p, so the Xbox Ally doesn’t always take full advantage of its benefits.
The Xbox Ally is the most comfortable Windows gaming handheld on the market today. ASUS opted for the PlayStation Portal approach by essentially splitting the Xbox Wireless Controller in half and attaching it from each side. Along with all the buttons, triggers, and bumpers found on the Xbox Wireless Controller, the Xbox Ally has two repositionable back buttons. It also has motion control and HD haptics.
One of the big selling points of Xbox One is that the custom, console-inspired dashboard is easier to use than the traditional Windows interface. The Xbox One has a 512GB SSD, 16GB of RAM, a microSD UHS-II card slot for expanding storage capacity, two USB-C ports, and a headphone jack.

GamePass Ultimate users have a built-in library of hundreds of games for Xbox One. Whether you already have a subscription or not, you may want to purchase your membership from a major retailer rather than directly through Microsoft. The price of GamePass Ultimate went up to $30/month in October, but major retailers still sell prepaid codes for $20/month.
Docking station for xbox ally

If you want to play your Xbox One on your TV or use it as a regular PC—you can switch to a standard Windows OS interface—you’ll need a USB-C docking station. The official Asus Rogue Xbox One 100W charger dock will set you back $US85 ($100), but there are solid third-party options that work just as well and come with a stand. JSAUX docking station and 100W charger available for $50 (was $70). This one is nice because it also comes with an AC adapter, so you’ll have a second charger. Another notable option is IVanky’s 14-in-1 RGB Docking Station for $57 (was $80). It doesn’t include an AC adapter or USB-C cable, but it has more ports for accessories.
Xbox One Fury Glass Screen Protectors
The Xbox Ally has a scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass Victos screen, but it never hurts to add a screen protector to pricey handhelds, even if it’s just for your own peace of mind. Also, screen protectors are cheap. You can get a 2-pack of jsaux’s tempered glass anti-chill screen protectors with an alignment frame for $11.69 ($13). Two of the biggest names in the screen protector market, Amfilm and Eyelor, have a 3-pack for $10 without an alignment frame.
Xbox Ally Carrying Cases

The official Rogue Xbox Ally carrying case is $70. It has a built-in stand, but $70 is still too expensive for a hardshell carrying case. Again, third-party deals will save you a bunch of cash. One of the most popular third-party options at Amazon over the past month has been the $26 Case of Process. Another carrying case available at White is the Kubik Travel Case for $60. An added benefit of this is that it includes two tempered glass screen protectors and four thumbstick grips. You can get the same bundle in black for $48. JSAUX also makes a nice hard shell case for just $25.19 ($28) and a nice throw bag for $37 ($40).

Xbox 360 grip cases and thumbstick grips
The Xbox Ally already has great ergonomics, but so does the Steam deck, and that hasn’t stopped players from buying ergonomic grips. Outside of a travel case, one of the benefits of a comfortable over-grip case is to protect the handheld from drop damage. For a premium option from a major accessories brand, check out Dbrand’s Killswitch Travel Case in $80. DeBrand’s clutch series is fantastic, and Best Buy recently started carrying select DeBrand grip cases. We haven’t tested the Xbox’s all-in-one grip, but the Switch 2 grip is the best ergonomic grip we’ve tried for Nintendo’s new console. You can also find some budget-friendly AA options from common brands on Amazon, including this popular $20 silicone grip case with a built-in stand.
MicroSD UHS-II cards for Xbox One
As mentioned, you can expand the Xbox One’s storage with a microSD card. Unfortunately, the entry-level handheld is limited to UHS-II cards. The Xbox One X can read UHS-I cards, which are cheaper and easier to find in higher capacities. We’ve outlined some options below. The most affordable is Kodak’s 256GB microSD for $45.36. For 512GB, the Gagestone Ultimate Pro is the cheapest we looked at at $100.
- Kodak UHS-II microSD (300MB/s)
- Lexar Professional Gold UHS-II microSD (280MB/s)
- Nextridge UHS-II microSD (280MB/s)
- Gagestone Ultimate Pro UHS-II microSD (280MB/s)
ASUS ROG XBOX ELLY and ELLY X launched on October 16. We don’t see a deal on the Ally X yet, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s considered the second time the entry-level model has been discounted.
The Xbox Alliance isn’t the only deal on 2025 gaming hardware available now. The Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle sells for $449 ($500) at Amazon and other major retailers.
The PlayStation Portal, which includes the Midnight Black Edition that launched earlier this year, is $179 off Amazon and Walmart during PlayStation’s holiday sales.
