At one end of the giant main airport terminal in Austin, Texas, is a Delta Sky Club prize. It is one of only three permanent airport lounges in the entire airport. There are also two other airline-branded lounges: a United Club and an American Airlines Admirals Club.
For passengers accessing Delta’s Sky Clubs, the location is large and has plenty of space for work, socializing and plane space.
Where is the Delta Sky Club in Aus?
To get to the Sky Club in Aus, once you exit security, take a left and walk all the way to the end of the main Barbara Jordan terminal. It can be a hike, and there are no moving sidewalks to help you.
The Sky Club is near Gate 4, and you can take a spiral staircase or elevator to the second floor to access the club.
The Austin Sky Club is open Sunday through Friday from 4:15 am to 10 am and Sunday from 4:15 am to 6:15 pm.
Austin Delta Sky Club Design
The Austin Delta Sky Club is 9,000 square feet, which is on the small side for Delta Sky Clubs.
The first thing you notice about the place is the somewhat rugged and Texas-esque interior with art by Texas artists, as well as signs in the bathrooms with the city’s unofficial slogan, “Keep Austin Weird.”

The club is laid out in a circular pattern with a room to the left of the entrance that has large windows overlooking the airplane, coffee tables and the buffet.
Food and beverages
As is the case with other Delta Sky Clubs, dining options include a mix of cold and hot dishes that change throughout the day, offering breakfast first and then all-day selections.
When I visited around noon on a Monday, the buffet had several dishes that fit the Texas theme perfectly, including plantains, arroz verde, chicken tortilla soup and barbecue. I was so hungry and it was all so delicious, so I forgot to take a picture of it.

There were also a variety of cold salads, sandwiches and charcuterie on the buffet.
If you exit the dining room and pass through the entryway, you enter a large bar area with a bar in the center, surrounded by several types of seating.
You can’t miss the glass wine tower, visually pleasing and climate-controlled storage space for colorful bottles.

The bar also has cocktails on tap and a variety of local beers.
Continue around the circle and you’ll run into a self-serve beverage station with coffee, a fountain, an area with Coca-Cola drinks and water, lemonade and iced tea.
One thing I find annoying about this Sky Club location is that it’s the only indoor self-service beverage station I’ve found, so if you’re back in the dining area, you have to leave it to get something to drink.
Definitely a first world problem.
Phone booths and sky decks
Past the bar, you walk into a room with multiple workstations and wood accents to help with sound control and privacy.
A highlight of the Austin Sky Club is the covered Sky Deck outdoor patio. With fans and heaters, it’s a great place to stay all year round.
