“Life is getting more casual. Let’s face it,” Barbara Tufank declared during a recent video call to discuss her spring 2026 collection. This argument is a new reality for the ware designer, who is looking for a one-of-a-kind evening look. Unlike his past collections, which had a more old-school formal feel, this season his models wore simple Manolo Blahnik flip-flop heels that more accurately reflect the way young women dress these days. He also embraced more cotton fabrics in an effort to make his offerings more suitable for night time. Including a matching cotton cropped top and skirt set. The designer explained that she could imagine young women wearing it to work with a tailored cardigan on top, and then straight to a party. To further emphasize the semi-finished feel of the skirt, she lined it with crinoline to help maintain its shape and texture.
Tufank is a designer who cares about durability. She used deadstock fabrics and materials from previous collections that she found in her atelier to create fun and flirty mini dresses that are ready to go.
