Crypto activity in Brazil expanded rapidly in 2025, climbing 43 percent year-over-year as the average investment per user crosses the $1,000 mark, according to a new report from crypto platform Mercado Bitcoin.

The report, titled “Rio-X do Invesidore Máticos Digitas 2025,” claims that Brazil’s crypto market is no longer driven entirely by speculation but is increasingly shaped by investments and portfolio planning in its formation. The data was based on activity in Latin America’s largest digital asset exchange Mercado Bitcoin platform.

According to the report, the average investment amount per person reached about 5,700 Brazilian reais, which is equivalent to more than $1,000. At the same time, 18 percent of investors allocated funds across multiple crypto assets, indicating a gradual shift toward diversification rather than single-asset stakes.

Bitcoin (BTC) remained the most traded asset, followed by the US dollar-pegged stablecoin USDT (USDT), Ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL), the report said. Stablecoins also stood out as a key on-ramp for new and existing investors, accounting for nearly three times as many transactions as last year, as users sought less volatility amid macro uncertainty.

    Brazil’s low-risk crypto products see 108% growth

The report reveals that low-risk crypto products will gain momentum in 2025. The digital fixed income offering, known locally as Randa Fixa Digital (RFD), recorded a 108% increase in investment volume, with Mercado Bitcoin distributing around $325 million to investors in 2025.

Demographics also shifted. Investors aged 24 and under gained 56% year-over-year. However, Mercado Bitcoin noted that demand extends across all age groups, including high network and institutional profiles.

Regionally, the Southeast and South of Brazil dominated by transaction volume, led by São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, while states in the Midwest and Northeast gained visibility as crypto participation expanded geographically.

ITAú Asset recommends a 1%–3% Bitcoin allocation
