It’s been 12 years since Bruno Mars performed at the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show, but the musician has found a new big venue where he can sing without leaving his home. This weekend, the hit Roblox game Steals a Brainroot is going to host a one-time-only pop-up performance by Bruno Mars.
The official announcement was made on Roblox’s social media channels. The Mars performance will take place on Saturday, January 17 at 12pm PT / 3pm ET.
While musical acts like Stray Kids have performed in Roblox before, Mars will be the first to do so for Steal a Brainroot, which launches in May 2025. He’s expected to sing his new single, I’ll just sing an old song along with it.
To mark the occasion, players will have the chance to earn Bruno Mars’ Braintrot as well as other in-game items and traits.
Steal a brainroot, grow a garden, and the big Roblox sandbox were among the top trending topics on YouTube in 2025. There’s also a Rebel movie in development, despite the game’s lack of any recognizable story elements.
However, Roblox has been accused of not doing enough to protect children from child exploitation and grooming. According to a Bloomberg investigation in June 2024, the platform has had major problems with child predators. Florida and Texas even sued Roblox over the issue.
Roblox has since introduced measures to prevent children from talking to strangers, and to limit their interactions to children their own age. Earlier this month, Roblox continued its global rollout of its facial age check system, but the results have been mixed at best.
