Las Vegas – Canon Masters, Street Fighter Main Stay, DLC’s latest role in joining the deadly attitude: City of wolves. This is a surprising news, as the developer SNK revealed last year, and I worked with this role before flying in the world’s largest fighting game tournament and Convention EVO 2025. However, SNK arrived for an interview that was actually happening during the show, but was transferred to the email due to a scheduling controversy. Therefore, below, you will find my q+A with Yasuyuki ODA (lead producer, city of wolves) and Masami Obari (dynamic, wolves cans open opener city).

PCMAG: Ken Masters is the latest DLC character of wolves. Oda San, please let me know how the SNK decided that he (and Chun Lee, who is coming to 2025 in the winter) will be representative of the street fighter in the deadly approach.
Oda San: We wanted a character that was as famous for the Street Fighter franchise as Terry and Mai are deadly angry. Ken, who also has history and enmity with Terry, ended as the best choice. In the same vein, Chen Lee’s enmity with Mai and she is a famous character for the Street Fighter series that we felt like we have to include it in the game.
PCMAG: How freedom do you have to translate cans in terms of visual design and move sets?
Oda San: We are the most grateful of Cape work that has provided us with plenty of creative freedom to adopt cans. We wanted to use its Street Fighter 6 version as a base and then wanted to include its most famous movements from previous street fighter sports. I think we were able to maintain the canal identity while also creating a unique version of it that fans can enjoy.
PCMAG: Will COTW Caps also receive the guest role of Fighting Game Publishers besides work?
Oda San: We are still considering this, but unfortunately, we have nothing to announce right now.

PCMAG: Before the launch of COTW, some fans were surprised by Ronaldo and Salvatore. What is the reaction of fans after the launch? And do you imagine that the roster add more real -world people?
Oda San: These two skills have allowed us to reach the world’s audience that we have never thought of the game before, or even the genre of fighting sports. We have nothing to share about future cooperation at the moment and will further disclose if there are more news.
PCMAG: As a developer, you spend years in designing fighting mechanics. Do players ever use the system in unexpected ways that make you surprise? Can you give an example of this?
Oda San: With the way we make the game, we repeatedly test the game before launching, so it is usually expected. In the past, we had a lot of surprise by the players (hahaha). If the game keeps working properly, it is not a problem, but then there were many bugs like problems that needed fixing. In this era of SNK, we often played games with a sense of trouble.
PCMAG: One of the amazing aspects of the city’s wolves was to include the Sue System. Will you add this feature to more stages? Or, maybe, add other stage mechanics, such as color out from the real bout series?

Oda San: We are still considering how we should approach mechanics like colorout, but if the line is concerned, we will definitely want to add this feature to further stages.

PCMAG: When I took your interview in 2023 Before the release of the city wolves, you mentioned seeing American comic books as visual inspiration. When the team formed the cool shape of the wolves, which comic books or artists impressed you?
Oda San: In fact, the art of deadly anger and fight was influenced by American comedy books. There is no special hilarious book that was impressed with art style, but the way American uses comedy shadows and tons is something that impressed us greatly.
PCMAG: In Obari San, Fighting Game circles, you are famous for the story of the classic deadly fury mobile phone feature. Did your design changed working on philosophy cans, which is on the role of a cap work, unlike SN’s roles?
Obari San: When I attract the characters of the deadly attitude, I try to focus on pulling them in a way that shows both their beauty and cooling. However, I feel that the focus of the Capekam’s characters is in his wildness, so I tried to emphasize it in this matter.

PCMAG: When you introduce mobile phones for the city of wolves, do you feel the need to copy the gameplay tricks or do you go in a different direction?
Obari San: I am a great fan of this game, so when I emphasize the movement and effects of the original game, I try to express them in a way that is unique from animation.
PCMAG: How is the process of animation preparation changed between the 1990s when you worked on the deadly fury mobile phones and wolves?
Obari San: In the past, there were limits of cell and film animation that were created from time to time to prepare the film and camera work used in cell animation, but these limits are no longer a problem.
PCMAG: There are many intense feelings to meet the wolves’ dynamic interview, in the new city, in the new city, to meet. In terms of storytelling, what do you want to tell in terms of character personality or topics?
Obari San: I wanted to express changes in my animation. Terry, from a rock point of view, was a praiseworthy person who eventually became someone he wants to move forward, so there is a clash between the two at the height of the game. I too wanted to present a resolution between Terry and Gais in mobile phones, which was not included in the game. The appeal of the deadly attitude is that each character has a well -designed layout and the backbone.
