Tips, tricks and ideas for a better home and courtyard, which provide your inbox daily.

If you enjoy dealing with DIY home projects equipped with your tools storage, you may find some surprise and shock if it turns out that you are making some common mistakes in their use and care. Even with the most good intentions, diyers can convert easy tasks into expensive disasters.

Whether using the wrong tool for a job or ignoring the basic safety protocol, these memories can compromise on the quality of the finished project and can cause injury, property damage and unnecessary costs that could be stopped. We talked to many professionals to identify the common toll mistakes and how you can avoid them.

    1. Personal safety equipment not wear (PPE)

When working with electrical tools such as saws, exercises, nail guns, and impact wrenchs, it is important to always remember wearing proper PPE, says Darian Leva, an American Home Shield expert. It includes protective glasses, strong gloves, nonsalp shoes, ear protection, dust masks, long -sleeved shirts, pants and closed toe shoes. “Wearing proper PPEs can be extremely dangerous when working with electrical tools, and can cause severe harm to yourself and others,” says Leva.

It is common for people to stop wearing safety equipment because they think it will be fast and easier. Nevertheless, it is important that you take a few seconds to the PPE before starting a project so that you can use power tools safely.

Diyers often choose the wrong tools, potentially harmful materials and tools, and possibly destroy the project completely. Examples include cutting wood with hexo, using a screwdriver when you need a wrench, or using a flat head screwdriver as a snack. “This is not the one for which he was designed and unnecessarily dangerous, ineffective, or more time,” says Erica Wood House, senior marketing and communications manager at Massachusetts’ weekends. She recommends taking classes or watching YouTube videos so you can use the tools properly for the projects you plan to deal with.

Another mistake is to forget to clean or completely clean the tools wrongly. This is an important step to save your tools’ age, says Steve Corcorn, CEO of Laun Love in San Diego, California. He says, “If you do not clean your tools, you may face issues like rust, which can force you to change your tools sooner.”

Failure to clean tools can also cause tolls to be less efficient over time. “When they are less efficient, they may be more dangerous to use, or more likely to damage the materials or items they used,” said Corcorin. If you never clean your harvest scissors, for example, you can spread the harmful bacteria that hit the plants. After each use it is recommended to clean the tools. Make sure that after their use, especially the cutting edges.

“There is no combination of tools in the moist basement. This is a rusty form.”

    4. Recovery to ignore

Neglecting restoration is a common device mistakes. In the Home Alliance, the manager of the Power Account, Jabakhidz, noted, “Dires often work until the tools fail, which is usually not a mid -project.” “Wear tools, whether you take notice or not; the blade slows, the bits chip, take the cords into the field.” Refer to the instructions provided by the Manufacturer of proper care of your tool collection. Time to avoid spending more money on new tools in the future is right now.

Another mistake that people make is not to store the tools properly. “There is no combination of tools in the moist basement,” says the Kakhdes. This is a rusty form. ” “Incorrect storage tools are dimmed, damaged, or just losing simple.” They can be damaged or also become a risk of safety. Keep an eye on confused cords on which people can travel. After a project, keep your tools in dry, air tight box or container. Be organized by labeling trays and compartments with the exact device name.

    6. Using an inappropriate grip or stand

Your position and grip is the first line of defense when working with the tools. Therefore, if you are using an inappropriate stand or grip, you may lose control of a device and increase the likelihood of turning, slipping or unexpectedly kicking, Leva warned. “It also increases the likelihood of a toll from your hands and out of your control.” Leva recommends keeping her feet separate, bending her knees a bit, centering her body weight, using two hand grips, and keeping her wells close to her body near her body. “Always position yourself, so if the toll is slippery or withdraws, it turns away from you and not on your body.”

    7. not to adjust the torque

Jabakhadz says, diyers often misuse power tools. For example, forgetting to adjust the torque can be very deep, distributing wood, distributing wood, or nailing, for example. “Wireless exercises are used like screwdrivers unless they remove everything in the eyes. I have seen that circular saws walk without proper help, tie the blade and kick hard enough to intimidate someone.” He recommends that people learn the limits of their tools. He says, “Use the patch LOW low torque, drill -high -high torque, and always support both sides of the cut to allow the Arya to work without force.”
