Four months after the spread of a catastrophic forest fire in Los Angeles, Edison International’s southern California’s utility proposed a $ 6.2 billion reduction, including other measures to install hundreds of miles underground distribution lines.
According to a statement, the utility plans to invest in 2026 and end in 2028 for more than three years. The proposal also supports at least 260 circuit miles of at least 440 circuit mail conductor and underground distribution lines, as well as at night with firefighting capabilities, such as the world’s largest haltinkers, such as aerial firefighting assets.

In March, Edison said it contains 465 miles of unused power lines, as it is believed that it had given birth to the deadly Eaton fire in LA County. About 250 miles of these lines run into more dangerous areas of wildfire.
