Nearly 18 years after the death of Estelle Getty (born Estelle Gettleman) at age 84, the Hollywood legend’s home in the Lower Bird Streets neighborhood of the Hollywood Hills, just north of Sunset Boulevard, has gone up for sale for just under $7.7 million.
Veteran TV actress and comedian – perhaps best known for her iconic Emmy and Golden Globe-winning turn as the sharp-tongued Sofia Petrillo on the hit TV sitcom. The Golden GirlsHe owned it for about seven years after a trust bought it in 1994. He sold the place in 2001 for about $1.5 million to its current owners, who have since made several updates. The agency’s Elaine Komura and Paul Lester have the listing.
