Amazon’s catalog of weekly movie and TV deals features a wide selection of contemporary and classic horror, including a number of 4K Blu-rays with steelbook cases that you can only find on Amazon. The retailer’s new 4K Steelbook editions of the first three Halloween movies are on sale now for their best prices yet. The discount isn’t massive, but special editions from Amazon aren’t often discounted. The Halloween (1978) Steelbook Edition .4 is on sale for $39.49 (was $45), and the Steelbook Edition of Halloween II is $37 (was $45). Both of these editions were released in September and were followed in late October by the Halloween III: Season of the Witch Steelbook Edition, which is on sale for the first time.
All three Steelbook editions of Halloween are distributed by Shoot Factory and a portion of Amazon’s mass sales of Shoot Factory films. Some Halloween 4K Blu-rays instead of Steelbox for 50% or more: Halloween (1978) is $19, Halloween III .4 is 13.49, and Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers .4 is 18.49.
Amazon is also offering a big discount Halloween 4K Collection-Michael Myers’ Curse, H20: 20 Years Later, and Resurrection – which drops the price to $US69 ($130). The Halloween 4K Collection is the only way to see the 4K Blu-ray editions of the two films made from 1995-2002. For another three-movie collection, check out the specials at Walmart The Halloween Trilogy Steelbook Edition on 4K Blu-ray For $40 (was $50).

Halloween I and Halloween II limited edition steelbooks feature close-up character art by Michael Myers. Half of his face is on the front cover, while the other half is on the back, so you can open each case to reveal the entire image. The design is also essentially reversible, as it looks cool regardless of which side it’s facing. Background artwork depicting moments from the films.
This is the same 4K Blu-ray edition that was originally restored by Shoot Factory in 2021. The 4K disc supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. Audio formats include Dolby Digital Mono-to simulate original sound. The 4K restoration was approved by Halloween cinematographer Dan Kunde.
Interestingly, this edition only comes with one 4K Blu-ray and one Blu-ray disc. Shoot Factory’s 2021 Collector’s Edition has three discs. The bonus disc has an extended cut in HD. The missing Blu-ray disc had an HD expansion cut. That said, you’ll still get a bunch of notable bonus features and a cool case reminiscent of one of John Carpenter’s best films.
Disc 1 (4K Blu-ray):
- Audio commentary: John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis
- Audio Commentary: Dan Cundy (Director of Photography), Tommy Lee Wallace (Editor), and Nick Castle (Actor)
Disc 2 (Blu-ray):
1080p Blu-ray is far from a 4K restoration. It has the aforementioned audio commentary and:
- Documentary: The Night She Came Home
- TV version footage
- Theatrical trailer
- TV spot
- Radio locations
It’s worth noting that Walmart also recently released a special Halloween 4K Blu-ray edition. It’s not the Steelbook Edition, but it does come with a slip, and the standard Blu-ray disc includes all the special features from the original Shoot Factory release. Plus, it’s only $27.
$37 (was $45)

The Halloween II limited edition steelbook features a similar steelbook design, with artwork that spans both the front and back of the case. Inside the case is additional artwork inspired by Halloween and Samhain.
This three-disc set is accompanied by a 4K Blu-ray, a 1080p Blu-ray, and a DVD. It matches the 2021 Collector’s Edition in terms of bonus content and technical specifications. 4K discs are presented in native 4K resolution with support for Dolby Vision and HDR10. Cinematographer Dan Kunde approved the restoration from the original camera negative. Audio formats include Dolby Atmos, Dolby True HD 7.1, Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0, and Dolby Digital Mono (for DVD).
Here is a list of special features for each disc:
Disc 1 (4K Blu-ray):
- Audio Commentary: Rick Rosenthal (Director) and Leo Rossi (Actor)
- Audio Commentary: Dick Warlock (Stunt Coordinator)
Disc 2 (Blu-ray):
Most of the special features are found on the 1080p Blu-ray, which is far from a 4K restoration, so it looks better than the average Blu-ray. You’ll get both audio commentary and the following extras:
- Documentary: The Nightmare Is Not Over – The Making of Halloween II
- The Sacred Grounds of Horror
- Deleted scenes with optional director commentary
- Alternate ending with optional director commentary

- Film Script (DVD)
$40 (was $45)

Halloween III: Season of the Witch was released just one year after its predecessor, but the 1982 film was quite a departure for the series, as it is the only entry in the series without Michael Myers. It’s not even a slasher film. As the title suggests, Halloween III is a sci-fi movie with magic. It was intended to be the first in an anthology of films. When it debuted in theaters, it received poor reviews, although it has been compared to Michael Myers’ slasher films. It’s only really a part of the series in the name, but it’s actually a very good film that many fans appreciate and enjoy these days.
The Limited Edition Steelbook, dubbed Factory’s Best 2021 Collector’s Edition, is only $13.49 at Amazon through December 12th. Like the first two films, this is a stunning native 4K restoration from the original camera negative—approved by cinematographer Dan Kunde—with Dolby Vision and HDR10. For audio, it supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby TriHD 7.1 surround sound as well as DTSHD Master Audio 2.0.
The two-disc set comes with 4K Blu-ray and 1080p Blu-ray discs. Here is the list of bonus features:
Disc 1 (4K Blu-ray):
- Audio Commentary: Tommy Lee Wallace (Director)
- Audio Commentary: Tom Atkins (Actor)
Disc 2 (Blu-ray):
The Blu-ray is based on a 4K restoration and includes two commentaries and the following bonus features:
- Documentary: Stand Alone: The Making of Halloween III
- The Sacred Grounds of Horror
- Interview with Tom Berman (Makeup Effects Artist)
- Stills Gallery
- Theatrical trailers
- TV spot
- Radio locations
The Halloween Series: 1978-1989

Shoot Factory’s 4K Blu-ray Collector’s Editions are also available for the fourth and fifth films, The Return of Michael Myers and The Revenge of Michael Myers. Each collector’s edition comes with a slip. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers is discounted to $18.49 at Amazon. Halloween 5 is sold out on Amazon, but you can get a copy at Walmart for $30.
Halloween 1-5 on 4K Blu-ray
- Halloween (1978)
- Halloween II (1981)
- Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)
- Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)
- Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)
Halloween 1-3 on Blu-ray and DVD

After the release of Michael Myers’ Revenge, the series took another extended hiatus before returning in 1995 with The Curse of Michael Myers. It was followed by Halloween H20: 20 Years Later in 1998 and Halloween: Resurrection in 2002. The films from 1995-2002 were collected in box set format on 4K Blu-ray, 1080p Blu-ray, and DVD. The box set is the only way to get all three of these movies on 4K Blu-ray at a reasonable price. Halloween H20 released in 2023 in 4K, but it’s out of print and costs $40 from a third-party seller. Stand-alone editions of each film are also out of print on Blu-ray and DVD, so box sets are the way to go regardless of your desired look. As mentioned, the Halloween 4K collection is discounted to $69 (was $130). For an absolute bargain, check out the 3-Movie DVD Collection for just $5.
Halloween Series: 2018-2022

The modern trilogy that debuted in 2018 is also available in box set format on 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD. Each collection includes: Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills (2021), and Halloween End (2022). Each film in the modern trilogy is also available as a standalone 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray combo pack. The 4K Blu-ray Standard Edition of the Halloween Trilogy is on sale for $52 at Amazon, but you can snag the Halloween Steelbook Trilogy on 4K Blu-ray for just $40 at Walmart. The 1080p Blu-ray version at Amazon is .6 at 24.66.
We’ve also included every individual film in the trilogy on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD. At this point, all box sets are cheaper than buying the movies individually. That said, Amazon has the Steelbook Blu-ray edition of Halloween (2018) for just $15.
Rob Zombie’s Halloween Movies: 2007-2009
Rob Zombie’s 2007 and 2009 remakes aren’t canon, but they’re worth checking out. Unfortunately, both films are only available on 1080p Blu-ray and DVD.
