There are a few ways to improve on a New York fall day. Taking the latest Macan Electric for a drive could be one of them. Inside this all-electric showstopper, designed with a custom luxury interior and an exceptional sound system, drivers will experience peace and tranquility even at the busiest intersections. And in a city known for its art and architecture, the Porsche Macan Electric is right at home, engineered to be a work of art on four wheels.

Porsche recently hosted a weekend in and around the Big Apple to honor the art, design and engineering behind its Macan Electric. At the Surrey Hotel, just steps from Central Park, internationally acclaimed artist Tom Frain unveiled a new sculptural installation inspired by, and sitting alongside, a Porsche Macan Electric. Comprised of metal and stained glass, Frain’s mosaic masterpiece takes its cues from the Macan’s Configurator, a digital tool that allows buyers to pick and choose their vehicle’s interior and exterior colors to honor their individual style and creativity. Opportunities for self-expression are plentiful.
Inside the car’s cabin, the customization options continue. The seating, headrests, console layout, and even the air vents are open to the owner’s interpretation. The Macan Electric is no longer just a car. It’s a blank canvas where drivers can express themselves.

Fraun explains Rob ReportAutomotive editor Viju Mathew says his art is inspired by his surroundings. “When I first moved to New York, I was trying to discover both the place and myself,” he says. “I just started picking things up and it became almost a diary of my experiences. I’m looking for something real and real and trying to sculpt that.” A passion for making sense of and connecting with your surroundings is evident in this sculpture, where glass and light play in concert with each other. “I want to change your experience of the outside world,” Frain says. “Hopefully (my art) changes your worldview for a second.”
Porsche doesn’t just draw inspiration from the art world, its vehicles are also inspired by master modernist architecture. The Macan Electric combines both: sculptural beauty and advanced engineering. Underneath the car’s sleek exterior lives the new premium platform electric, designed with an 800-volt high-voltage system for both fast charging (electricity in less than 30 minutes) and high speed (630 HP and a 0-60 mph sprint of just 3.1 seconds).

Since the Macan Electric is a celebration of design and engineering, Philip Johnson’s world-renowned Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut was another fitting destination for a weekend inspired by the art and design of Porsche. Johnson’s modernist masterpiece is celebrated for its striking stainless steel frame and transparent glass that showcase its structure while providing uninterrupted views of the bucolic surroundings.
The Glass House is a masterpiece of precision, structure, architecture and design. This is a real original. “The Porsche Macan electric vehicle feels the same,” says Matthew, “engineered with clarity, precision, and always connected to what’s around you.” “

After a few days exploring the arts and traveling through the creative landscape with Porsche, it’s clear how art and design can be inspired. As Matthews explains, “Art reframes the way we see the world.” And the Porsche Macan Electric is no exception. Not only is it a state-of-the-art vehicle, it’s a way to experience the world and reconnect with the beauty of your surroundings. This is true art in motion.
