In November 2024, General Motors withdrew approximately half a million vehicles for a terrible transmission issue, which could close the wheels. Now, thanks to a new memory affecting Cadelic Sidan and Chevrolet Camaro, the number is now more than 500,000 cars.
90,081 vehicles are affected by the new memory, they are all equipped with 10 speed automatic transmission. The majority of the Camaro memories are potentially affected with 50,147 units from 2020 to 2022 to 2022. From 2020 to 2021 Cadelic CT 5 is from the next 27.097, followed by 2019 and 2020 to 10,602 CT6 Sidan. Only 2,235 Ct4s are included, they are all included in 2020 or 2021.

The problem is the same. A control valve in transmission can wear prematurely and lose pressure over time. This can lead to strict shifts, but in extreme cases, wheels can be closed. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) documents say it has happened – GM noted 115 field reports of the wheels that could be caused by this problem.
An investigation was launched after the GM Manager reported a lockup with an all -wheel drive on 2021 Cadellic CT5. After a momentary lock, the car became neutral. In field reports, there was one that allegedly included an accident. There are no known injuries due to lockup.

The previous memory affected only Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadelic Phil -shaped pickups and SUVs with a diesel engine. This new memory is the same as the old -affected vehicle owners will get a software update that “can detect more 10,000 miles away before the wheels lockup condition.” The software will fix the check engine light and restrict the transmission to the fifth gear to repair. Apparently, the lockup condition occurs when the transmission attempts to shift below the eighth gear.
The dealer’s report is already underway for a new memory. The owner’s notification will begin on April 21.
