One of the best-selling LEGO Star Wars sets is proving hard to find in stock this holiday season. The 1,050-piece R2-D2 figure is now sold out at Target and Walmart and is on back order at The LEGO Store. If you’re interested in picking up a cool buildable droid figure, Amazon brought back its deal on this extremely popular set on December 18th. Normally $100, the Star Wars R2-D2 Lego set is on sale at Amazon for $80. The deal was previously available at Walmart and Target, but both retailers are sold out unless your local store has units available.
Launching in March 2024 as part of the LEGO Star Wars 25th Anniversary Collection, this medium-sized building model of the beloved droid comes with a host of extras, including a Knights of the Old Republic minifigure.
Take a look at the LEGO R2-D2 features below. If you’re looking for more LEGO Star Wars deals, you can pair R2-D2 with his friend C-3PO. The 1,138-piece C-3PO Display Model 2 is selling for $112 (was $140). We’ve rounded up additional LEGO Star Wars deals at the bottom of this story.
$80 (was $100)

The 1,050-piece R2-D2 is a fun and rewarding build that offers solid value for the price—even when it retails for $100. For $80, though, this impressive R2-D2 figure is one of the best Star Wars Lego bargains available before Christmas.
Once fully assembled, R2-D2 is 4 x 6 x 9 inches. Recommended for builders ages 10 and up, this iteration of R2-D2 is one of Lego’s display model and playset hybrids. For interactive features, R2’s head can rotate a full 360 degrees. His legs are designed for fluid movement, so you can slide R2-D2 like you would an action figure. Its middle leg and periscope are detachable, and its utility armament can be extended.
As R2-D2 doubles as a display model, it also comes with a buildable plaque with figures and stands with information cards detailing the iconic astromech droid. There’s also room on the stand for the mini R2-D2 Lego figure that’s included with this set.
As mentioned, this particular version of R2-D2 launched as a member of the Star Wars 25th Anniversary lineup. As an added bonus, you’ll find a display stand with the LEGO Star Wars 25th Anniversary logo—which just happens to feature R2-D2—and a Darth Maul minifigure. The main villain of BioWare’s classic RPG Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic, Darth Maul comes with a red lightsaber accessory and can be displayed on the 25th Anniversary stand.

Sticking with droids, the 1,186-piece Creative Play Droid Builder 4-pack is available for $US100 ($110). Exclusive to Target, this pack of customizable figures includes R2-D2, Chopper, QTKT, and R5-J2. Speaking of exclusives, Amazon is the only retailer that carries the retired Phantom Menace Brickheads 5-pack, and you can snag the 732-piece figure set for just $44 ($55).
Other popular deals include Captain Rex and Jango Fett helmet replicas for $56 ($70) each, an Accelerator-class attack ship for $40 ($50), and a Star Wars logo made of bricks for $48 ($60).
If you like Lego’s series of medium-sized Star Wars ship models, check out the 643-piece Vanguard-class attack cruiser before it launches on January 1st.
The biggest LEGO Star Wars ever made will make its way to major retailers on January 1st. The UCS Death Star, a massive 9,023-piece model, is available for pre-order at Amazon for $1,000. The Death Star launched as a LEGO Store exclusive in October. It’s currently on backorder for 60 days, so you should get your pre-order from Amazon soon. The latest model in the latest collector series is the most expensive LEGO set ever.
