Most of the autumn collective whiskey releases are sent to the bourbon category, though it has some exceptions. See two of the rye’s impressions in the reservoir of the Buffalo Trace Antiques, just announced. Talking about Rai, Utah Distillery High West has just announced the details of its most collecting whiskey, annual midwear night drum, and this year’s edition looks like a joy from another port.
The Midwear Night Drum Act is 13, as you can estimate the 13th edition in this regard. The first “Act” reached more than a decade ago in 2013, and since then each release line varies in terms of a permanent ingredient. It is a mixture of rye whiskey that ends in the port barrel. Initially, the High West acquired all its whiskey from other distilies, mostly MGPs in Indiana, but also Barton in Kentucky. Around 2020, Distling turned into a combination of MGP Rai and his own home, although this compound is still bent over the component of the Source Hasky.
This year’s release is a combination of whiskey for four to 10 years. In particular, these ingredients are 95 % of the malt and 5 % malted, which is in the Rye MGP, and the high west ruined rye, which is made up of 80 % of the ry -ray and 20 % malted rye, is a relatively unusually unusual mesh bill for this category. The exact ratio of every whiskey is not revealed in the mixture, but probably the sound becomes the most part of what is in its bottle. After that, whiskey ends in the ruby and Tawani port barrel, which is a clear feature of this particular expression, and is a bottle of filtration bottle without any cold on 98.6 proof. We have not yet found a sample to try, but the official tasting notes look interesting (and very specific)-“Marion Berry safe, chocolate-hit cherry, marbled rye bread, mocoicino cinnamon bark, oval tea, winter pine, and smoking aishe cigarette.”
While Port Finang describes the bourbon developed by the angel of Louisville’s angel, there are some notable examples in the Rai category. However, none of them have really gained the collective status of the midweight knight drum, but if you work faster you can get this whiskey now on the distalry or through its online shop (SRP $ 150). And if you want to sink into the back catalog, the previous release is still available on websites like wine tomorrow.
