Who sells TB Bill?
You can buy a treasury bill from the government directly from the Treasury Direct.com, or through a brokerage or bank account. T -bills are only available in electronic shape.
Some online brokers allow you to purchase individual T -Bills, and some offer treasury accounts, which are for you to purchase T -bills, hold maturity, and then re -invest the profits.
How do I start?
Whether you buy your T -bills from the Treasury Direct or from a financial institution, you will need to set up an account, and you have to link to your own bank for payment.
After that, decide which TUBL maturity you want to buy.
The government sells a T -Bill, which is firm in four, six, eight, 13, 17, 26, 26 or 52 weeks. Brokers can offer all these maturity lengths, or only select the terms.
T -Bulls are usually sold on their facial price discounts, and this discount determines the production that you will receive by imposing maturity bills. For example, if you have bought four weeks, $ 100 Treasury Bills on waiver, you will pay a discounted price, then get a full $ 100 at the end of the four weeks.
Treasury Direct.Gov sells Treasury Bills online at auction, and requires a bid of at least $ 100. Brokeridge can demand more or least in terms of account.
T -Blas are considered a relatively SAFE safe short -term investment because they have the support of the US government, and when they guarantee payment when they are held for the entire term.
You can also invest in Treasury ETFs or indirect T -bills through mutual funds.
