Iowa’s Attorney General Bernena Bird announced the settlements in two cases, whose office prosecuted by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
Agri Star Mate and Poultry, LLC, have agreed to fully comply with their national pollution removal system permits by December 31, 2026.
Over the years, the Agri Star allowed the waste water boundaries about 60 times. The recent violations of ammonia resulted in severe toxic concentration in the hacker crack. In addition, Agri -Star failed to notify, failure and daily violations, meet the schedule, conduct the required surveillance and submit reports.
In a separate case, New Co -Co -You have agreed to a settlement on the release of ammonia nitrogen in March 2024, which led to the release of its red oak, causing an important death of fish 48 miles of the river Nishanotina and its combination with the river Missouri.
Under this settlement, the new co -operate will pay a fine of 000 50,000, for an additional environmental project with the Montgomery County Conservation Board, 000 50,000, and will agree with the three -year -old order across the state for the prohibition of future violations of Iowa water quality rules.
