JetBlue Airways just announced changes to its loyalty program, TrueBlue — and like most updates, it’s a mixed bag. In this case, families and high-ranking mosaic elites come out on top. But if you’re a low-level elite status member, expect fewer amenities going forward.

Another positive update: In a first-of-its-kind policy, flying with children on JetBlue may soon help parents earn mosaic status.

What to know about the upcoming changes announced on October 16, 2025

    Coming soon: Family Tiles

From February 1, 2026, tiles earned by children can be commensurate with parents’ elite status and facilities. JetBlue is calling this new program the Family Tile. (Tiles are the units JetBlue uses to measure elite status.) Among the airlines, we’re the first to reward families in this way.

We don’t yet have all the details on how this program will work. In JetBlue’s announcement, the airline said children “will need to be enrolled in family tiles and linked to a parent/guardian’s TurkeyBlue account. But other eligibility requirements and other details are not yet available.

Still, it’s a boost for families who fly together. Instead of each child earning their own Mosaic elite status, parents can count those flights toward their earnings.

This Family Tiles concept complements JetBlue’s existing Points Pooling feature, which allows up to seven members to combine TreeBlue Points with no transfer fees.

Other positive changes for the truth

Effective immediately, fliers will receive an additional month of elite status. Instead of the elite status expiring on December 31, 2025, it will continue until January 31, 2026. The idea here is to count flying and spending activity at the end of the year as your elite status.

Going forward, elite status will continue to be extended until January 31. This means, for example, if you qualify for elite status in May 2026, you will receive that status on January 31, 2028. Earlier, it would have expired on December 31, 2027.

Other changes will take effect starting February 1, 2026:

    • More tips for Mosaic 3 and 4: Mosaic 3 members will earn a total of 10 points per dollar when booking directly with JetBlue, while Mosaic 4 members (the highest tier) will earn 11 points per dollar.

    • More upgrades for Mosaic 4: Instead of getting two moves to the Mint Upgrade Certificate per Elite qualifying year, Mosaic 4 members will get four. Mint is the first-class version of JetBlue, so it effectively doubles the upgrade.

    • Lounge Access: when JetBlue opens its first lounges In New York and Boston later this year, Mosaic 4 members will have complimentary access. (If you want access to these lounges and don’t have status, consider JetBlue’s Premium Cardwhich will also provide access to these lounges.)

    The truth deduction for 2026

Starting February 1, 2026, some benefits are being cut or rolled back, including:

    • Less free checked bags: If you’re a Mosaic 1 member, you’ll get one free checked bag instead of two. All other members and mint bookings will continue to receive two free checked bags.

    • Companion Upgrade: Currently, you can upgrade up to eight travel companions with your elite status. Starting February 1, 2026, Mosaic 1 and 2 members can upgrade to two travel companions, while Mosaic 3 and 4 members can upgrade to four. This is a great kit if you fly with a large group.

    • Less free drinks: In 2026, all Mosaic members flying in standard economy will receive just one free alcoholic drink, down from three. Drinks will still be free in upgraded seats, mints and on any transatlantic flight.

In short. , there is more upside for the top elite, but some deduction for those at the bottom. Whether these will affect your options will depend on how much you are currently using them.

The biggest winner? families and high-ranking elites

Overall, these changes are a win for families and high-end Mosaic elites. With these changes, parents stand to gain elite status — and therefore more perks — even faster.

In addition, Mosaic 3 and 4 members will earn more JetBlue Points for flights booked directly, two free checked bags and unlock more Mint upgrades. Mosaic 4 members will also have access to the lounge, although it has not been announced whether they will receive free guests or whether children will be allowed into the lounges.

While these changes may look good at first glance, the fine print will determine their ultimate effectiveness. Still, the Family Tiles program is a modern addition and, for families, the biggest highlight of this batch of updates.
