Keke Palmer has confessed that she “never” wants to live with a romantic partner—even if they are married—because she likes her “alone time.”
The 32-year-old “True Jackson, VP” alum opened up about her dating hot take while appearing on the “Today” show with Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones.
While promoting her new series, “The ‘Burbs,” which hits TV screens on Feb. 8, Palmer admitted that fans won’t ever find her living under the same roof as her future boyfriend, or even husband.
Palmer, who shares a 2-year-old son, Leodis, with her ex, Darius Jackson, told the hosts that she “could be open” to having more children, however, she is adamant that she won’t live with someone.
“I could be open, but one thing I need you to know is I never want to live together. I like my alone time. That’s real. I’m speaking as The Keke.

“I just feel like Whoopi Goldberg said it best once. She was like, ‘I don’t want nobody in my house.’ And I feel that. I’m serious—married, even,” she said.
Jones asked if the actress would want to be near her lover, even if they aren’t in the same house.
“You’re just gonna live around the corner? Around the corner would be great. You can be in the guesthouse, we can be on the same land, but I’m over there and he’s over there. At best, separate rooms.
“But think about how fun it would be to be like, ‘I’m going over to my man’s house.’ Over there, hi husband!” she added, with a laugh. “It keeps it fun and exciting. I want to go sit on his couch,” she said.
The women also discussed the new dating trend that sees people opening up about their political beliefs on the first date.
“I think that’s actually good. Just get it out of the way, because sometimes you end up talking to somebody and y’all never talk about anything real, any of the things that actually show compatibility life-wise,” Palmer noted.

Palmer has owned multiple properties throughout her career, both in California, where she is primarily based, and in New York, where she recently listed a stunning Brooklyn penthouse for $2.99 million.
That listing, which went live in November 2024, has since been removed. Records indicate that Palmer still owns the unit.
She has also kept herself actively involved in the real estate market on the West Coast, where she snapped up child-star-turned-author Jennette McCurdy‘s former Studio City home for $1.38 million in 2021.
She listed that property for $1.8 million in February 2025, but once again removed the listing a few months later.
Palmer got her start as a child actor, making her film debut in the 2004 movie “Barbershop 2: Back in Business.”
Her breakout role came in the 2006 film “Akeelah and the Bee.” That same year she also appeared in “Madea’s Family Reunion.” She also starred on several Nickelodeon shows, including “True Jackson, VP.”
Since then, she appeared in the Fox show “Scream Queens” and slasher series “Scream.” The performer hosted a talk show, “Just Keke,” co-hosted the talk show “Strahan, Sara and Keke,” and hosts the revival of the game show “Password.” Also a singer, she put out an album, “So Uncool.”
