Earlier this week, Kia fueled rumors of a Stinger revival by posting teaser images of a new fastback-styled sedan. However, we’ve gotten ahead of ourselves because there’s no indication that this is a new stinger in creating an Angular concept. The Vision Meta Turismo is the company’s gift to itself for its 80sTh birthday
Technically, it’s 81St Anniversary, Kyungsung was established in 1944 considering the health related industry. The KIA name didn’t appear until 1952, and the first four-wheel drive car arrived much later in 1974. Earlier, Kia only made bikes, motorcycles and trucks.
Coming back to the Vision Meta Turismo, it is a very futuristic concept with an ultra-edgy design inside and out. Kia vaguely calls it “a vision of a new era of mobility” and says it harkens back to the GT cars of the 1960s. Technical specifications aren’t available, but it’s clearly an EV that promises “dynamic driving performance,” which is what it means.
It looks like a ship on wheels coming back from the future. The heavily stylized bodywork has more angles than we can count, complemented by thin light strips at both ends. Although teasers suggested a five-door liftback, the Vision Meta Turismo doesn’t seem to have a tailgate or even a conventional trunk. Then again, this is just a concept.

Inside, Kia says it aims to create a lounge-like atmosphere. A D-shaped steering wheel with square buttons sits before a small rectangular screen, and additionally, the instrument cluster is a projection rather than a traditional display. The head-up display extends into the passenger area, similar to what you’ll find in the new BMW IX3.
Elsewhere, the driver’s armrest ends with a joystick that looks like a pistol grip and likely incorporates various controls, such as the drive mode selector. The absence of a B-pillar is another clear sign that we are dealing with a concept. The expansive greenhouse includes numerous small glass panels that flood the cabin with light.
Overall, we’re not getting any Stinger vibes aside from the sloping roofline, but that’s not enough to inspire hope for a new swoopy sedan. Even if Kia plans to produce something similar to or similar to the Hyundai Ion Q6, it will be fully electric. The automaker says more details about the Vision MetaTurismo are coming soon, but it’s not committed to a production version just yet.
