Meta has filed a motion for a decision on the issue of no -confidence that is currently fighting in court. The movement has argued that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has failed to present any evidence that Meta has illegally made a monopoly of the social networking market, the government says it has done through its Instagram and WhatsApp acquisition.
Filling was submitted immediately after the DC District Court Judge James Boseberg was tried in a long trial. “After five weeks of trial, it is clear that the FTC has failed to meet the legal standards under the law of non -confidence,” said Christopher Sigerro, a spokesman for Meta. “Regardless of, we will present our case to show what every 17 -year -old young man in the world knows: Instagram compete with Techtok (and YouTube and X and many other apps). The FTC spends tens of millions of taxpayers to bring about a weak case with the praise of the market.”
The decision on the partial results calls for a judge to consider the qualities of a trial before fully discuss the court, and seek to accelerate its resolution. The trial is still going to proceed, Meta starts its defense against the allegations of FTC, but the filing previews its case.
As Meta lawyers have done in the examination, it aims to describe Meta’s “Personal Networking Services” market monopolizing the market that people use to share information with family and friends. It argues that the FTC has failed to show that it has reduced the quality of its services (an important sign that a company lacks competitiveness) or has purchased Instagram to neutralize a potential competitor.
The FTC has presented its case with the testimony of several top profile players in the Meta business, including Kevin Sistom, co-founder of Instagram, who broadcast complaints about Meta’s handling her company. Meta has fought against the company’s permanent struggle against social networks that the FTC does not consider fully rivals, especially Techtok, who have presented Meta as a permanent curse for the 17 -year -old children in the war.
