Licensed insurance companies will soon need to register in the state’s new insurance motorcycle program to write auto -laughing coverage in Missouri.
The Missouri Insurance Verification System (MOVS) will include real -time insurance verification, ongoing compliance monitoring, and a pre -trial diversion program. In 2023, the program was developed by the lawmakers after passing a bill, which ordered the department to set up an online platform to confirm that the owners of the vehicles comply with the rules of state financial responsibility.
Missouri Insurance Commissioner Angela Nelson said in a bulletin released to insurance companies that companies need to register with MOVS by October 15.
Bulletin said insurance companies should continue to report coverage information to the DOR until the moose works fully.
