During the protests, Tarak Bazaruk faces federal charges for repeated attacks on Jewish victims.

A young man from New York City is facing serious legal problems after being accused of federal hate crimes to attack Jewish people during several protests. During the nine months, Terk Bazarok allegedly shown hate attacks due to his belief and attacked them in three separate incidents. These were not random activities of violence. Each time, Bazuk chose the victims who were clearly supporting the Jewish community, whether wearing religious clothes or carrying Israeli flags.

The first attack took place outside the New York Stock Exchange in April 2024 during a protest affiliated with the Gaza war. Bazrok was seen wearing a green band as Hamas members were worn. He linked a group of people and was arrested by the police. But when he went to the police car, he kicked a Jewish college student in a stomach. The student was standing near the others who wore a caps and waving the Israeli flags.

Eight months later, in December, Bazuk attacked again. This time, it was near a university campus in Upper Manhattan. One of the victims, a Jewish college student, was singing and wearing an Israeli flag around his shoulders. Bazuk took a flag from the student’s brother and ran away. When the two brothers followed him, Bazuk hit the student on his face.

The third pregnancy of hate attacks took place just a month later in January 2025. Bazuk found another protest and a man wearing an Israeli flag, a zero, flag hat, and a star of David necklace. Badhok turned the man and then after a short confrontation, he punched him in the nose.

Although he was arrested after every attack, Badok did not come. Officials say his actions were running because of deep hatred of the Jews. When the police searched his phone, they received disturbing messages and videos. In his writings, Badok called himself “Jewish hateful”, and insulted the Jewish people, and said hateful things about women with Israeli stickers. He even told a friend that he was happy to know that he had a relationship with Hamas. His phone was also full of videos and messages supporting Hamas and Hezbollah – two groups are known to attack Jewish communities.

Federal authorities are treating the issue of hate attacks seriously. He says what Bazaruk did was more than violence – it was a threat to the freedom and safety of others based on their religion. FBI and NYPD investigators worked together to collect evidence and ensured that Badhok was brought.

The allegations leveled against him include three counts of hate crimes. Every one can be imprisoned for ten years. This means that if every count is convicted, Bazaaruk is facing for thirty years. Prosecutors say that although these crimes affected individual victims, they sent a disturbing message to the wider community. People should be able to collect, speak and practice their faith without fear of suffering.

The legal process is still underway, and while Bazuk has been charged, he has not yet been found guilty in court. As in all cases, he is considered innocent until he is found guilty. Nevertheless, the government has made it clear that such hate crimes will not be ignored. Law enforcement officials are determined to send a message that people will not be tolerated to attack for their faith. They believe that everyone deserves to live safely, without fear of loss, who are they or what they believe.
