Artificial intelligence care has lodged a complaint against Openi, a Chat GPT -maker company, accused of potential violations of tax law, which could endanger its unprecedented status.
The Tech Watch Dog said Thursday that it has documented “abandoned security measures, conflicts of interest, financial upside down for the CEO, if the organization is profitable, and even the potential misuse of charities.”
The results were part of the complaint filed by the Madas Project with the US Internal Revenue Service, alleging that members of the Open AI board had “large -scale financial disputes.”
The complaint alleges that the Openi board structure creates interest disputes that violate the federal rules over tax exempt from non -profit people. In particular, the dual role of CEO Sam Ultman as a CEO of both the CEO and its non -profit board of the Openi, which he claims, creates a situation where he personally benefits on non -profit.
“CEO Sam Ultman can gain equity in the new profitable company, but in any way, its investment in companies in partnership with Open AI creates additional disputes of hundreds of millions,” he said.
The Madas Project says it is a non -profit move that is founded in the early 2024, which provides, investigating and reporting AI companies to ensure that “AI technology benefits everyone, not only producing companies.”
Interest conflicts have been blamed
According to the New York Post, it is expected that Sam Altman’s reorganization will get an equity stake in the openness, which is likely to be billions, in view of the company’s $ 300 billion.
The complaint also identified several members of the board with financial controversy, such as Chairman Brett Taylor, who laid the foundation of Sierra AI, who re -sales Openi models. Adam de Angelo’s company, Coora, who is an open customer. And Adibio Ogoni’s firm, global infrastructure partners, who owns data centers who benefit from the demand for AI infrastructure.

The Madas Project said that the Open AI was established as a non -profit so that the general intelligence of the advanced intelligence benefits humanity, not the shareholders.
“When they run towards a powerful AI system, any weakness of these reservations can endanger the public interest.
The Quantal Graph contacted the Open for the comment but did not get an immediate response.
Profit or non -profit?
Open was founded in 2015 as a non -profit organization by Elon Musk, Sam Altman and others.
Last November, the AI firm entered the preliminary conversation with US regulators to turn into a profitable structure.
However, the Open allegedly abandoned these plans and endorsed its commitment to its unconstitutional status in May, citing that no final decision was made on the reorganization.
Elon Musk Connection
In 2017, Musk actually advocated the Openi to be profitable, but tried the firm in March and then in August 2024, and alleged that the AI company violated its original contract as a non -profit plan and abandoned its original mission while earning a profit.
In February, a group led by the investor’s Musk presented a bid to the Open Board of Directors to buy the firm in February.
