    Oracle Warns Health Customers of Patient Data Breach

    According to the person familiar with the matter and a notification sent by the software company to the customers, the hackers broke the Oracle Corporation’s computer system and stole the patient’s data in an attempt to get several medical providers in the United States.

    Earlier this month, Oracle had informed some of the healthcare users who, after January 22, accessed the company’s server and copied the patient’s data to the external location, according to the notification, which was seen by Bloomberg News. Oracle sells software to hospitals, doctors’ groups and other medical companies for patient record management.

    The FBI is investigating the violations and the efforts of cyberpathers to force medical companies to pay ransom, which spoke on condition of anonymity because they did not have the option to discuss the ongoing investigation.

    It is not known how many patients were recorded. The total number of health caregivers that hackers have tried to get extortion is also uncertain.

    Oracle, based in Austin, Texas, did not immediately respond to a comment request. An FBI spokesman refused to comment.

    In 2022, Oracle achieved the Billion of Electronic Health Records Business Business Corporation at 28 billion and achieved goals to modernize the Legacy Software Company, including transferring consumers to the cloud. Consumers include hospitals, small clinics and government -driven facilities.     According to the notice, Oracle told users that the hackers had access to old server servers, and taking data that had not yet moved to Oracle’s cloud storage service. The company said in the notice, “The available evidence suggests that the dangerous actor illegally accessed the environment using stolen consumer credentials.” Oracle said he was aware of the violation around February 20.

    Customers have been told in the notice that stolen data may contain patient information from electronic medical records. The person familiar with the violation said that recent patients recorded records.

    The company told clients, “Oracle Identification will help your organization in information reviews about patients.”

    A spokesman for the Veterans Affairs said the department was not affected by the incident.

    The post -bleeding computer had previously reported some of the details of the cybertack.
