- A new Pollster 4 version arrives later this year.
- The next-generation Pollster 2 is slated to launch in early 2027.
- The compact Pollster 7 debuts in 2028.
- The Polestar 6 Roadster will launch later.
Polestar comes off the back of a solid 2025, with retail sales up 34 percent to 60,119 vehicles. Today, the Swedish brand outlined its plans for 2026, which include starting deliveries of the 5 this summer.
By the end of the year, a new version of the 4 “targeting a broader customer base by offering greater versatility” will go on sale. While the description is vague, this new flavor does feature a rear window, and we’re told it will “combine the space of an estate and the versatility of an SUV.” In other words, it’s likely a lifted wagon.
In early 2027, the next generation 2 will hit the market. Looking further ahead, Polestar aims to launch 7 compact crossovers in 2028. Of course, the most exciting of the company’s promised lineup is the Model 6 Roadster. We originally saw it as O2 The concept will change in 2022, when the company said it will launch the production version in 2026.
Sadly, that is no longer the case. Motor 1 Pollster reached out to ask why the gorgeous electric roadster isn’t among the models featured in the latest teasers. Head of Corporate Communications Theo Kjellberg explained that the company has bigger fish to fry right now:
“The focus now is on getting the Polestar 4 variant, the Polestar 2 successor and the Polestar 7 complete and on the market. Next, we can turn to the Polestar 6. So, by that logic, not before 2028.’
When news first broke that Pollster would sell the 6, a $200,000 sticker price was also revealed, making it the company’s most expensive car ever. As a refresher, the plug-in hybrid Polestar 1 Coupe launched in the US for the 2021 model year at $156,500. Initially, the company said it would build only 500 roadsters, but later clarified that it would increase production if demand proved strong enough to sustain it.
Since the launch of the 6 is at least two years away, Polster is not releasing any technical specifications. The 2+2 concept with retractable roof backs up this stunning design with impressive figures: 884 horsepower and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) from the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup. It sprinted from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds and topped out at an electronically limited 155 mph (250 km/h).

Motor1’s Tech: The Polestar 6 is quickly starting to feel like Tesla Roadster redux in terms of product delays. Even in a best-case scenario, the 2028 launch would be six years after the concept’s launch. It could be worse, though, as the second-generation Roadster premiered in 2017 and has yet to reach production.
Every brand needs a halo model, and the 6 will fit that role perfectly for Polestar. While it will inevitably be a low-volume product, the iconic convertible could do wonders for brand awareness and create a clear differentiation between Polestar and Volvo.
