Ram unveiled his rivals at the New York Auto Show of Chevrolet Silvarado EV and Ford F-10 Lightning-Ram 1500 Rio-2023. Originally designed to launch last year as the company’s first full electric truck, Ram, has now officially canceled the project.
In a statement released today, Ram announced that she would completely “stop the development” of electric pickups. However, the name “Rio” will survive, as the company is nominating Ramcharger as the new RAM 1500 Rev, Ramcharger, an extended electric vehicle (ReEV) extended to its hybrid range.
Said in the statement:
“As the demand for power trucks in North America is slowed down, Stelon is re -evaluating its product strategy and will stop the development of BEV pickup of the entire size. ‘

Ram actually intended to launch its Electric 1500 in 2024, but in May, the company announced a delay in 2026 when the company focused on Ramcharger Hybrid.
In the meantime, Ram has returned the Hemi V-8 engine in a 1500 pickup. The new CEO Tim Consix confessed that it was a mistake to leave the fans’ favorite power train. “We have damaged,” Concese told reporters. The return of V-8 has already proved to be a hit with buyers.
RAM is the latest in many car makers to measure EV’s ambitions. Audi has allegedly canceled the upcoming RS6EV production, Honda has eliminated its major electric SUV, and allegedly Lamborogini is revising its long -awaited EV program.
