Satechi SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard Review

I am not a fan of Apple’s magic keyboard. Whenever I have to use the IMAC, I now look for an alternative. So, if you are anything like me, the first question on your brain is, this painful model makes it much better than Apple’s offer?

One of the biggest differences: SM3 is a mechanical keyboard, while the magic keyboard is equipped with scissors switches. Yes, this type of design can be far more noisy than a scissor switch model, but the SM3 maintains a low sound profile, which is ideal to type in crowded offices and joint places.

The keyboard uses low profile brown key switches, which offers 1.4 mm activation points, 2.6 mm travel distance, and 50 grams operating force, which gives each stroke a comfortable weight while unwanted mechanical chain is not introduced. Parbassy letters allow the keyboard to shine through the cacheps, increases adventures in low light settings and adds clean aesthetic to the board.

Key switches do not change hot, but you can easily change keycaps to choose your operating system. Given the overall design, SM 3 measures 16.9 by 0.6 inches (HWD) by 4.7 and weighs 1.4 pounds. If you are looking thin, SM3 is not the smallest in the market. It is more patented than the Lajtic MX Keys S for Mac, but the entire size Apple Magic keyboard provides a thin and light package.
