According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Seagway has released a memory for all its nine boats Max G 30P and Max G 30 LP electric scooters due to a faulty procedure that can pose a risk of falling, keeping the scooter’s handle bars and stem risk. The company has received 68 reports of failures, resulting in 20 injured injuries and frictions to Lausen and even broken bones.
Of the returning scooters, 220,000 have been selling at stores, including Best Bye, Costco, Walmart, Target, Sams Club, and Amazon at stores since January 2020. Nine Boat Max G 30P can be identified by its gray and yellow color scheme, while Max G30 LP model is black with yellow accent.
Seagway urges users to stop using the returning scooters immediately, but it is not replacing them. Instead, the company says the owners can contact the Sigma “to get the information to determine if the folding mechanism needs adjustment and get the free maintenance kit.” The cut includes instructions and tools to tighten, and maintain a folding mechanism on any model to ensure that the folding method is locked while the scooters are riding.
