The island of St. Martin is known for its beautiful beaches and the world’s most unique airport runway, and it will soon welcome another thing: South West Airlines.
According to the Southwest, the carrier will begin flights next year to the island’s Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) between both Orlando and Baltimore. It indicates the first new international destination of the airline since 2021.
The South West will start daily flights from Orlando International Airport (MCO) on April 7, 2026, a few days later, the Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) will have a service at the weekend.
“These non -stop routes allow round -trap contacts with more than 45 airports all over the United States,” South West wrote in a statement, “The destination with two heartbeat” is called “One Island”.
Caribbean Island is divided into two sides: Dutch St. Martin and French St. Martin. The main airport is on the side of the Dutch and is known for its incredible aircraft with the opportunity to see a low flying aircraft below the nearest beach and draws memorable images from sea or sand with a nearby plane in the background. Passengers of the island can also take classic carbon foods, can rotate on one of the many famous beaches, get out of the scuba diving campaign, enjoy sailing and entertainment.
Passengers want to jump in their spring break or winter, now they can start planning as Southwest also opened its flight schedule by June 3, 2026.
Beyond St. Martin, Southwest is also making passengers easier to turn to Asia thanks to a new partnership with Taiwan Career Eva Air. This is a sign of the third airline’s partnership in the southwest, which involves similar contracts with the carrier’s Icelander and China Airlines.
This expansion came when many changes have to go through in the southwest. In May, the airline eliminated its long -term (and often trial) policy to offer a free checked bag. And in January 2026, the carrier will begin his newly assigned seating policy, which will eliminate his open seating. The carrier is also restoring its rental classes, introducing new options for the “basic,” “choice,” “choice preferential,” and “Choice Exterior”.
And this week, Southwest also changed its plus seating policy, which advised users who needed more room to buy their extra seat during booking. Earlier, Southwest allowed passengers of the plus size to either request a free additional seat at the airport or pay extra seat and receive a refund after the flight. The new policy will be implemented on January 27, 2026.
