Space X is indicating that the star link has increased the number of users in the United States, which is more than 1.4 million a year ago.
The company revealed the data on Tuesday in a post that discussed Spassex’s efforts to improve satellite internet service. The company wrote, “In the United States alone, more than 2 million active starlinks in Friday demand hours is about 200 MBPS by July 2025.”
Space X did not specify how it describes “active users”, or that data includes only paid users or multiple users who are involved in the same star link account. Nevertheless, two million data indicate that the company is paying efforts to attract more consumers in the United States, after the growth is left.
About a year ago, the company told the Federal Communication Commission that the star link in the United States has “more than 1.4 million users”. The company reported the company in December 2023 that 1.3 million data increased significantly.
To attract more and more users in the United States, Space X is offering different deals, including free starlink dishes for eligible users who pledge to sign up for 12 months of service. In addition, the company launched a cheap “residential light” project for some areas, costing $ 80 per month, which is less than $ 120 per month, according to a routine of a residential project.
“American growth probably. Low -price light package and one -year commitment reflects free terminals,” said Tim Farra, a satellite industry analyst.
The development has also occurred despite SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who has faced public reaction to President Trump’s support before supporting President Trump. But perhaps sales speed is not translating everywhere. On Monday, the company also reported that the customer base of the Star Link in Canada has exceeded 500,000, which Ferrer said is only 100,000 more than a year ago. Globally, the star link has more than 6 million users.
Fast star link speed next year?

In the same post, SpaceX revealed that it was betting that it could start upgrading the star link next year at the speed of Gigabit. To do this, the company is working on a third -generation star link satellite, also known as V3

The company announced that “Space X is targeting its third generation of satellites in the first half of 2026.” “Each of them is designed to provide a new satellite to the ground link capacity (> 1,000 GBPS) and more than 200 GBPS more than the applink capacity.”
The V3 satellite promises to take the satellite internet service to the next level, which will potentially make the star link competitive with ground -based fiber. Last month, the company also launched a new $ 1,999 performance dish that is designed to offer gigabite speeds next year after entering the V3 satellite service.
The only problem? To launch a heavy and more powerful V3 satellite, Space X needs to rely on the starchy rocket, which is designed to carry dozens of them into orbit. But so far, the company’s starchy vehicle has not yet completed a complete space mission. Instead, the rocket is accidentally exploding in the launch pad and the sky during its recent tests.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk actually expected to launch the V3 satellite in 2024, but with the starchy technical issues forced them to push the timetable back. Last month, Musk himself tweeted that he expects the starchy to begin carrying the V3 satellite in “6 to 9 months, which should also help the star link to be delayed under 20 millions.”
The announcement of Space X on Tuesday added that “every star link launching network of a third -generation satellite on the stars is likely to add 60 TBPS capacity, which adds more than 20 times the capacity with each launch today.” This shows that the starchy will be able to carry 50 V3 satellite.
In the meantime, the Space X -Star Link Network is using Falcon 9 rockets to launch existing Generation V2 satellite. In the post, the company said it had deployed more than 2,300 new Star Link satellites last year, which has increased close to “450 TBPS of gross capacity”.

Nevertheless, in some areas of the United States, the star link has been so famous that the network has increased. In parts of the Northwest of the Pacific, the company is implementing an extraordinary $ 1000 extra “demand surcharge” to discourage new users from signing up.
