Texas Wiskey is a power to calculate these days, with garrison brothers, TX Wishesi, Melm and Green, and creates various styles that are worth checking. One of the lots is the best Austin, which is running a small dustlery in the capital that is making bourbon and rye that can stand with Kentucky’s best.
Yet Austin has been going on for more than a decade, and now the core lineup includes direct bourbon and Rye Wiskey, as well as a cosmic version of the Cask and Cask power, which are made in small batchs in the Distillery, located in an industrial park in the city. The bond series includes the bottle, which started in June 2023, in the weather vintage impressions, made of mesh bills, which sometimes include heritage grains. As a reminder, the term bond in the bottle means that whiskey is at least four years old, which is a bottle on exactly 100 proofs, and produces a distalry and an attachment season.
The new Red Corn Bourbon is made of 36 % Jimmy Red Corn, 34 % white corn, 25 % of the rye, and five percent malted bill. The reason for using Jimmy Red Corn is to try to capture special flavors from the grain, which has been doing other distalries such as high wire in South Carolina for years. After the release of 2023 in the summer (four years) and the release of 2024 in the summer (five years old), it is one of the oldest whisters of the series to date, and this extra year has really hit this bourbon with a sweet place of maturity. Official tasting notes have list the aroma of hazelnt, cashew, and strawberries soda on the nose, followed by peanut breaks, pumpkin seeds, pacan and red velvet cakes on the palate. We need to try a sample, and really has a good balance of sweet and subtle articles, including flavors like pepper, maple, and cream birley. This is an excellent sip bourbon, but if you are so inclined, such a wonderful one will make an old -fashioned cock.
Yet the Austin Bond is placed in the bottle in the Red Corn Bourbon, but check out special retailers and websites like the Reserve Bar whether you can snatch the bottle or not – and make sure you are buying what vintage – or collecting all three to compare and see how the age development has affected the taste of Wiskey.
