After first launching in 2021 on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S, Tales of Arise is now getting a Switch 2 release on May 22 with the new Beyond the Dawn Edition. This $50 Switch 2 special edition is available for pre-order at Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart. This new version is packed with bonus content, including Beyond Dawn’s story expansion, and the physical version of the action RPG also comes with unique reversible cover art. Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn includes both the base game and its expansion, Beyond the Dawn. To be released in 2023, this expansion adds nearly 20 hours of additional content to Tales of Arise. The physical edition includes reversible cover art as well as a selection of additional in-game costumes and items. Here’s a look at all the extras:

Pre-orders for Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn are available at Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart for $50. Digital pre-orders are also available on the Nintendo eShop. Please note that this is a card release of the game, meaning no game data is included on the cartridge. Instead, the physical game acts as an access key that allows any Switch 2 console you enter it to download a digital version of the game from the eShop. You’ll need to download the full game before playing, which requires 55GB of free space on your Switch 2 or its microSD card.

Tales of Arise originally took place in 2021, and the sci-fi fantasy game follows the masked Ghulam Alfin and the mysterious girl Shion on their journey to end the Renans’ oppression of the Dahanan people for over 300 years. Featuring fast-paced combat and a deep customization system, Tales of Arise received generally positive reviews, with critics praising it for its storytelling and mature themes.
“If you’re looking for a long, engaging, and engaging JRPG to play on your shiny new console or PC gaming rig, Tales of Arise is definitely a great choice. Just don’t go into it expecting an all-time classic,” wrote Heidi Kemps in GameSpot’s Tales of Arise review.
